I recently had the absolute honor and privilege of catching a two day ride with my good friend NeedForSpeed to the middle of I don't know where Oregon! I started out just a tad late so had to burn some fuel on the way to the meet up spot. Got there and gassed up Priscilla and could feel the feeling.
We swung out and Need led the way out of civilization. We come to what is now obviously out there, no traffic to speak of and a beautiful winding road through a beautiful climbing forest. The road was highly technical with bumps and arches and shadows from sunlight filtering through... Rolled most of that section in 3rd just finding my rhythm. The corner prep look through with the ass drag to inside off... The one finger gentle brake... The transition to throttle on dip in and a clean power through apex to widen line with throttle...
Once we got into a pace it was a revelation of amazing roads and scenery. We covered landscapes from desert scrub to elevated windfarms to cattle ranches to lava mountains 5000 feet high. It was amazing, sooooo much fun. Thank you so much for inviting me and showing me some great roads bro! I will not ever forget that one left hand corner in the little gully between the mountains on the way up to the summit of McKenzie pass. the lean angle was solid, the pace was high, lines of sight were good, I had that girl screaming up the ascent... 2nd gear wide open front end climbing, roll out and finger brake towards the cliff edge then tip in hard under throttle and widen past the apex with the rear tire scrabbling for adhesion... front end climbing, stab third, brakes hard, finger off lever as rolling on and tipping in, feel the power pick up that chassis and feed that bitch everything she has, screaming rushing urging, tires screeching and whorling through the apex to the power surge as you smash wot... then the dance begins again as you pick up the sight line over the crest of a blind hill apex with a patch seam in the middle, both tires dancing and floating.....
We scorched across mother earth, we ate other bikes, cars and bugs with equal aplomb. :)
ahhhhhhhhhhh.... it was two days of perfection sir! Thank you my man, I owe you a huge dinner and some fine microbrews at my house brother! gimme a shout and lets make a plan and we can do a little maintenance at the same time! you can help me sort out some hid's and I can squeak another HP or two out of your girl!
