hi all

picked the bike up today, 5 pdi miles on it put another 140 ish on this afternoon my first impressions are that i don't like it....... i i absofukinlootely love it, have taken it upto 5000rpm occasionally and you can tell it's going to be a rocket, must say it seems to pull well from low revs so they must have done something to the 08's any way here's some pics the photo's don't do the metal flake justice

I noticed on the picture of the speedo that you have what looks like two lights. I have an 08 Silver here in Oz and only have 1? Is one of the lights and ABS indicator? For some reason it seems only EU get the option for ABS

I am noticing this now, is that an ABS sticker??.... why doesn't Kawasaki offer an ABS model, I know its a supersport bike but there are many that use it for touring as well... also why don't we have the ignition immobilizers offered here.... Maybe us Westerners are behind the times!!! Bike is lookin good, love the color!!

yes the yellow light on the tacho is the abs light it goes out once you start riding , then i suppose it comes on again if there's a fault

Ninjabika i to have a blackbird and am looking at the zx-14 this weekend, i know you have only just got it but could you compare them, and is it worth buying the zx-14.

i love the looks and what i have read can you offer some advice??

as you can see i've only done 150 ish miles but all i can say is this bike is bloody brilliant, although it could be shiny bike syndrome.

firstly for me it's a lot more comfortable, i'm 6"3 but there seems more legroom for some reason maybe it's because there's not so much of a stretch to the bars it puts your lege/knees in a different possition.

secondly the ride quality is much improved even without fiddling to suit myself it feels good , and i can compare that to the bird as when i got it it only had 670 miles so the suspension wasn't worn out.

thirdly the brakes, i can honestly say i've never felt such stopping power i've had to recalibrate my brain or i'm going to pulling up short at junctions they are that strong you can really feel them doing something.

the dash layout is far better with lots more information so all in all i'm very happy with it considering i bought it without even a test ride, i just need to ride it more

I am also 6'3". If you feel like you're leaning over a bit to far for comfort at some point, you might consider these. I like them a lot.

Also, the suspension on these things in tuned for a rider of about 150 pounds, I think, so you might want to check into tightening things up a bit. Others have noticed great improvement in handling when they did that.

Yeh i know you just got it but i thought even yur initial impression are helpful. I to am 6"3 so our ego's are the same. If you could keep me posted on the comparo that would be good. I recommend you take the day off and go for a really long ride and let me know what you think
