I've been running this bike since new as a track only bike. It was shipped in the crate to RCC in 2016 for Scott Davis and Richard Peppler for a stage 1 plus build. It was then picked up by the selling dealer and shipped to me here on Maui Hawaii with 3 levels of tune making 249-276+299hp on pump gas. It's been at 70" wb and has gone through a few changes over the years and 140 or so passes I've logged. My goals for the build were 7.99/170+ and in 2022 after being shut down for 26 months due to covid I made the back half of my goal. 140 passes, not ring freshened up, no rod/crank inserts changed? Either way, pretty impressive, tech.

Thanks Hub, I just did a plug change and compression test left to right was 130-127-126-127 it does have a thicker head gasket to reduce the compression. Head studs, valve springs, oil mods and I run the oil at the top of the site glass plus 12oz. No bearings or even valve lash needed yet. I data log including oil and fuel pressure and don't exceed 10 psi with the stock pistons and rods. I've got a high boost motor I had built by Steve Knecum that'll be safe to 26 psi, 440hp on C16. I'm also using RCC's liquid to air intercooler. Aloha...

The 2023 season saw a few changes and got me closer to my original goals but as Ms Lewinski said "close but no cigar!" Mid season I added a longer arm built by DME for 69-74" to allow me to go beyond the 70" I was running. I ended up finishing second in the ProBike points and made 10-12 passes in the 8.0 range with a best of 8.035 When the season ended in late November I did a compression and leakdown test with a visual borescope inspection and found the motor to still be virtually flawless. With that confirmed I decided to put the bike on a set of scales which verified my thoughts. Miss piggy weighed in at a chubby 514.7 lbs. A diet for the bike and a tread mill for myself was in order. It was a long and time consuming and somewhat expensive effort but I thought it would be my best route to the elusive 7 second time slip...

Our season opener was last Saturday March 23rd. We were scheduled to have a 2 hour t/t session which ended up being a bit of a cluster f$%k with delays, oil downs and timing issues on a 4 month green track surface. I'd backed the boost down by a pound in the first 4 of 5 stages for the t/t which I only got to make 1 pass spinning in all 5 gears.

My off season weight loss efforts brought the bike down from 514.7 to 493.6 with 18 of which came off the front. My personal effort brought me from 171.2 at the 11/23 race morning to 163.8 at Saturdays weigh in!

Our track specialist went back out to drag and spray after the t/t so I decided to make a little change and bumped the first 4 boost stages back up .5 lbs for the event and see what happens. In the off season I'd put in a new clutch pack, new slightly larger air filter, bumped the rear sprocket from 44 to 45 which set the wheelbase at 71.5" I put on a set of Brocks window links and slid the fork tubes a bit higher. The result ended with 2.25" ground clearance and with the NHRA spec of 2" I was legal but not comfortable with the oil pan sump being the lowest point. I decided a Schnitz modified stock pan was in order and they were able to get it to me a week before the event. I only gained 1/2" but it could be a critical 1/2". Q1 gave me the 7 year elusive 7 second time slip and a first of my 50 years of 1/4 mile passes. It also gave me a best 60ft of 1.272 followed by 2 1.267 passes and a E2 1.261 which also unfortunately gave me and long wheelie beyond the 100ft mark that just kept climbing and I had to chop it hard to 25% to drop the wheel which landed so hard it bounced me off the seat. That extra 1/2 was worth its weight in gold as nothing hit and all the slippery stuff stayed in the motor! Second best of the day was a 8.027 though all my runs the back half was slower and the mph down 5+? I'm leaving the gearing where it is for April and get a better idea if it were just the track conditions, gearing, air and boost though I never changed the 5th stage which is in at 2.6 seconds. My only fear is I've lost some aerodynamic advantage by removing the front fender and lower fairings. I can put the lowers back easy enough though I'd have to reverse the forks to get the fender back on but I'd really like to keep the brake weight forward if possible. Time and time slips will tell...
