I knew something was fishy with the government reported statistics, liars can figure and figures can lie. Government says 9.4% but actual figures are about 16% when figured the same way we did during the last great depression we had, that's about 1 in 6 out of work. When you look at hard hit industries like automobile manufacturing and construction the % rates are much higher and some cities are already at 20%.

I had been searching for a job for 5 months. And I don't mean every so often applying for a job, I mean I applied for between 3 and 10 jobs a day. I had to give up pursuing my mechanical engineering degree so I could pay my bills. I thought it was a miracle when I stumbled upon a job that paid $11 an hour. I did make it hard on myself though because I refused to rape the tax payers and get unemployment "benefits".

Ya-he's in France-thought no one was looking.What a cad.While the world looks to America for moral leadership-this is what they get.He's got no real compass-all the stuff he comes up with has been carefully orchestrated over several years now.He's just the mouthpiece.That's why he can't talk WITHOUT a teleprompter-he doesn't possess the core values and knowledge to decide anything.He may very well get his term ended ahead of schedule if he doesn't get honest and real with the American people and start doing the right thing.

Interesting stuff about the unemployment rate, Kruz.
Hard not to notice that the #'s being put out there have been off though. Everyone I know it feeling the pinch in some way or another. Even the ones that still have jobs have had drastic reductions in their pay, bonus', and/or hours.

I was layed off from a company I had been with for 20 years, but was only off two months and my new job found me. I feel very fortunate. But I really feel sorry for the others that cannot find a job. The only bright side I can see about this whole thing, is maybe it will discourage some of the illegal aliens comeing over here. Probably not, but one can only hope!

The days of Americans not being willing to take cleaning jobs and fruit picking jobs are over. The concern that some of us are competing with illegal aliens for work is pretty real. Lots of folks willing to do just about anything to make a buck now.
