DK... The numbers for the BMW are all over the web and results from drags... check it out... Besides, if the stretched BMW runs a totally stock 14, is that the same thing??? Not really - the bike (14) wasn't "prepped" in any way that we know of... And just about all tests for the BMW bone stock put it at about 180 something at the rear wheel and 190+ at the crank... The bikes that are putting 190 or more to the wheel aren't stock.... something's been done to them, mapping, pipe, something... According to BMW the S1000R makes 193hp at the crank... so the 14R is (according to printed numbers), making 17 hp more than the S1000R, but of course the smaller, lighter 1000 has a power to weight advantage... straightline performance for the two would probrably be pretty close... Methinks...
Life may begin at 30, but it doesn't get real interesting until about 150... Ride or die!
