airplanes, no?
I don't know my planes but I'd take the jet if it was faster. I don't care if I can't use it in a corner, I'd take all any bike could dish out in a straight line.....

"Besides....my old Hardly ran like a friggin raped ape itself!!It WAS a sweet ride.I rode that baby like I rode my 07 Ninja....wound out baby! She held up good and did quite well.Shotgun pipes on there and a nice breather kit, plus that ignition module that let her open up to like 10,000 rpm instead of the that measley 6,000 limiter....oh yeah. She definitely could get with it."
So be honest with us now Green, which is faster, the Harley or your new 14R?

Now I'm curious, which one was smoother, the Harley or the 14R?

Coming in this one towards the end but I would bet the 14 is going to be smoother... Smoothest bike I have ever rode... Even at 160 it felt planted, 140 2 up was really good too.

Harley big twins are not known for running smooth. They are not designed to do that and will never be as smooth as a Metric 4-cylinder. I like my Harley for what it is, but it is not fast nor is it very smooth.

Yeeesh!!!!'splain myself'....okay.For a steel framed,800 something lb V it 'did okay'.It had the 88B twin cam motor. Not rubber mounted.Frame mounted. It was 'fairly' smooth. No way was it anything like the Ninja.No....But for a Harley...it was very nice.It did not vibrate like krazy. It topped out at right around 120.It was dangerous at that speed.VERY.
"like a friggin raped ape"...I meant for a big fat heavy bike...it 'felt' quite strong.Once that limiter was outta there.

Romans, let me interpret for you, there's a raped ape, then there's a scalded baboon. Same basic thing but I've always heard the baboon is slightly faster....lol!

hmmm, now that's a game changer as I missed memmo "doe"lol. Most of the guys I work with ride those thirty thousand dollar big box of parts. I just hate loading them on the Truck when they break down lol. Heavy hurts my back. Shhhhh, they will burn my house down. All in good fun of course.

Shane is saying he thinks the 2012 ZX-14 will weigh about the same as the old after basic mods. Here's what his ## are with a CT meg and a tune.
this bike is gonna kick our pre 012 ass. I'm still not about to buy one but damn, sure am looking forward to the day when I can.

I dunno Rook lots of smoke right now... Seno bike did 200hp with Brock's ct. that's an 10 hp difference from the same pipe brand and 5 hp difference with the same bike, same pipe, race gas and dynoed by Brock's himself. I would love to be wrong though!

who cares? This is 200 hp!!! It's getting to where 10 hp is not that much dif. Anyways, different elevations, different dynos----we all heard that story a bazillion times. It's just a tool to get an idea.
The most exciting thing to me is that Shane who is a ZX-14 guru thinks his new 14 will be about the same weight as the old one.....and it is still dynoing at 200+ hp and freeeeeeeky 124 '# tq.
