Hey Beast and Romans,
It is definately a CBR 1000rr, the seat (silver and black) is combo offerred on a 2009 model year, I think.
Let's hope it's not your boy! Thanks for the information folks, I just feel shitty for this bloke and his family. My wife was all apethetic, claiming he ran from the cops, but I told her that still does not make him deserving of the total loss of his life. Nothing is worth that price, and I am sure the operator did not want to pay the ultimate price. Before we discount the runner I told her, let's remember it is a fatality. I think that touches us all.

Romans, Stoufville you are close to Stevie, myself and the Beast...

Dave notice the signature!!!

Nice touch, hope you don't mind!

Good stuff Romans - as Wolf says, there is about 5 of us now really close together.
Hope we can all organize some group rides once the weather starts co-operating.

Yes, my drive this am was garbage. My buddy texted me that maybe 10cm snow starting tonight into tomorrow. Thing that stinks is I had my snows taken off two weeks ago.
gah.
Now I have to figure out if I'm going to be spending the night, or heading back in disaster weather with crappy summers on my car.

Nice looking Vehicle Beast.
My TDI is very good to commute in, just that the drivers door has an annoying creak in it from day 1 that they could never fix and now my warranty is long gone... lucky me.

Squeaking doors, welcome to Volswagen. I drove a GOLF a GTI and now a TIGUAN and in every vehicle one of my doors squeaked. Good news is, they are real doors with solid steel and weight. My wife's tin box never squeaks, but you could dent it by tapping it. That's just a VDubb phenomenon. Kinda like rattling fairings and cowls on a zx? It's just their charm.
Peace Beastman

Darryle,
I was going to start my son this year on a 50cc. Any cautionary words of advice...
As a parent with a kid who rides? When did you start em and how much discipline, racing and instruction did you impart...

My wife is dead set against it. I'd rather he learn right and safe from me, then go out and buy one behind our backs when he is 18 and be figuring it out for the first time, while trying to impress friends.

Romans, if you have any info, I'd love to know too.

No Darryl, It's like the best kept secret in town. The question was Asked at Markham Outdoor(bike shop)today and they do not know ???? I'm asking Everyone and still Nothing ? Maybe not from here ?

my son has my 07 now, his attitude is run ,don't know if he is just trying to antagonize me or what

From his point of view, loss of his pride and joy(because they take it) along with a 10,000 Dollar Fine. Insurance goes to 8000 a year (if he can ever get any). Licence gone for maybe 3 to 5 years if he is lucky. So cash value close to 50,000 plus plus. How does a young guy afford ? As sad as it is This law has made running make sense. I posted this remark on 680 news web site after the accident. They have sense deleted it. Of course the law remains.

I'm sure I will meet him this summer with you on Thursday Nights maybe ? I will be only to happy to explain what happens when it all goes very wrong. Can do this with Great Detail(ouch). He may listen & he may not. He may also have too much of his dad in him lol. Forgot to mention he goes back on your insurance lol (Yuk).

Romans, if you have any info, I'd love to know too

The second I hear I will let you guys know. This whole thing is very sad. Needless

Romans,
Thanks buddy, your right the threat of the lost machine and insurance bank is the best way to communicate the ugency of the situation to the young (incapable of grasping mortality).

PS if he has his ole man in em, he would likely outrun most anything on two wheels...A leathal combination.

I'll keep checking for updates and like you said, know him or not, TRAGIC!

My son started at 17,on an EX 500.His interest in bikes came from peer pressure. His friends had 600's, he was not happy with the 500.He had to be faster then his friends. He did track days and michael mercier fast school.he has a 600rr with race body work for the track

Darryle so he does not have a licensed road going machine? If all that speed focus is relegated to the track then everything should be a ok, no? So what do you think about starting them young with care and guidance on a low cc?

Start your son young but no pressure, let him decide .you will know pretty fast if its for him.my oldest doesn't drive at all.We think it was to do with him sitting in front of me when he was four, and lifting the front end a bit

Beautiful bikes and nice pic, too! Noticed the Deal's Gap sticker on your sons bike. You guys get out to the Dragon last year? I was out there last year and will most likely make my way out there sometime this season.

Never been to the "gap" seen it on TV. Got a friend on a GSXR that rides down every year. How long is the ride down Dave?

1300km. Doable in a day if you leave very early. Ideally you'd want at least 4 days if you're riding down. That way you can take in some of the other roads in the area. Absolutely fantastic riding down there.

May, June are good. July August get very busy and hot. Septembers good, too.

May 24 to memorial day is good except for border traffic, usually take two days doing the truck route, hate eating tires on the interstates.Normally head to Suches, great roads less heat from the police
