Toad...Guess I have a few years on you.. :) My reference was to the radio show of teh 30s and 40s where Kato was teh Japanese sidekick of teh Green Hornet on the radio show of that name , well up until WWll at which time he suddenly became a Filipino .. I did not even think about the movie...:)

Think you might have a few on me then Chrly , I'm 51 , and I used like to watch the original Batman series as a kid where the Green Hornet with Kato would sometimes appear on that show . I guess WW2 changed things and for good reason about the world order and how countries were from then on viewed for years to come , that was some fearsome times right there , and a lot of good people to thank .

Do you remember Batman and Robin climbing the building wall and there would be cameo's of people opening a window and having a chat?
The Green Hornet and Kato made an appearance there.

Don't ask me how I remember that because I just don't know...

Hahahah , yeah , I remember , also remember Julie Newmar. Catwoman..... man she was hot as in that tight cat suit back in the day !!

Finished up the tail tidy on Kato , and got both my streeters out together for a couple of pics . The Gilles are due tomorrow , so I will have a look at fitting them shortly .

Bit of an update , got the bike's suspension setup nicely , and the RS10's are working a treat . The Gilles , new mirrors and other bits and pieces are all fitted , but haven't gotten to the brakes as yet .
Took the bike to the local dyno for a base run now as is , with a tune to follow in the new year . I take all my bikes to this particular dyno , a mate of mine owns it . Some years back , the Busa ran 183 bhp and 105 ftlb base map on a pretty hot day , the 14R ran 199 bhp and 115 ftlb on a milder day , so pretty happy with that .
The next day , I decided to fit a 45t rear , and only had a short test ride , but seems to be no sign of that gearing glitch I have read about , so far . Going to get a test asap in the hills .

Good numbers, toad! I think you will like the 45T rear too. That is +3 on the rear, isn't it? +4 on the gen1 works for me.

Awesome. I'm ordering a gold Z3D, a 17T Vortex and a gold Driven 45T today for the 14. Also probably some new Carrazzeria cush drive rubbers. The busa will get the ZVX3 chain since almost everyone on the org seems to like that one best.

Hi there , have not checked in for quite some time , hope all are doing well . Got the ZX14R running pretty nicely now ,thought I would post a couple of pics .
I junked the abs and refitted Braketech iron 330mm rotors and GP4-RX Brembo calipers . The bike runs a new swingarm slanted more for road race . The bike runs Brembo rcs clutch and brake masters , and an Ohlins steering damper . Tried to shave off weight where I could , uses titanium for loaded bolts and some aluminum for not loaded . I have other bits coming in to add , and the quick shifter has not yet been fitted . The bike is great to ride , just recently back from a new ecu tune , it made nice power 204 bhp and 117 ftlb on the day . Been working on both my machines of late , still loving my motorcycle time , the Busa is now slanted more to tight road country , with higher bars and short gearing , whereas the ZX14R is built to run well on all roads , with open sweepers its main forte .
cheers toad

I didn't even mind, it was a pleasure to look twice! Both bikes are looking great. Those swing arms are awe striking!

I wrecked my 14, mate. Hit a deer. The bike flipped at least on time meaning end over end or top over bottom, I don't know. I was knocked out. I'd be dead without the helmet I had on. I walked away with some serious leg roadrash since I had no special protective gear on my lower half. I was fortunate my shoes stayed on. One must have dragged under the bike, all the laces were burned off but that shoe stayed on. I'm healing. Went to the doctor 9 days later and they cleaned them out. No sign of infection and healing well. I am now very reluctant to ride on the road here. I probably would have been able to brake hard enough to stop before intersecting with the deer's path if I were going the speed limit but who the heck wants to go the speed limit? I'm thinking maybe a new 14R...maybe but track only for me. I almost hit a deer on that bike going slow once. It's too dangerous to ride around here.

Hi Rook , man that is bad news to hear mate , I know you love your motorcycles like I do , shit a deer !! I seen footage of them on youtube getting crazy . But yeah , when you have something serious happen , it will pull you up , and you can start to wonder is it worth it . Well a new 1440cc ZX14R , or even any 1440cc Gen 2 , I would think you will love it around a track . I know you got time to think and look around now , there be something already picked out in your future bro , just got envision it and make it happen with $ .
I have not been seen anywhere for a time , been busy doing my own thing really , still carer for my old dear Ma , and the dog .

I'm sure I'll get a ride or two out of the busa this summer once my knees heal enough to keep bent. Just an easy ride to give her a run. I'm not tempting fate with all the damn critters we have running around here. Maybe I'll load my bikes on a trailer and take them to some friends for a few days from here on in. I will definitely not be riding anywhere ever again without full gear.

I know the fear of re injuring yourself as well , I got a heap of skin grafts to cover my right leg , from knee to two thirds down the length . That leg was degloved , flesh torn off , the grafts skin came from top of both legs . That was from a bike accident from 1986 22 Dec . I have worn protective leg coverage 80 percent of my ride time since those days . But of late , I been wearing less protection , due to those and other bike injury comfort on some rides , even more so cos I put on some pork since covid lockdowns ....
Good you still got the Busa , and riding it where you think will be better can only be a good thing bro .

Yeah......I know. LOL I used to enjoy wearing my leathers even on a 90° F day. When it comes to riding weather, the hotter the better and I still always got my leathers on over my sweaty self and then struggled with the boots. It was fine on the bike. I thought the getup was cool too! Problem is I gained about 15 lbs since coming to my new home 3 years ago and that was beyond the limit for those leather pants. There's no way I'm riding without leathers from now on though even if I need to buy a new suit.

Thanks Batt5 , you as well bro , stay safe and take care .

Hey , I got out for a blast today , just my usual hills ride , out to a town called Strathalbyn . The roads to it can be heavily policed most days , and school holidays over here , so not so spirited ride , but so good for the soul just to get out in the fresh air .

I had an order arrive today , it is a sprocket from a Dutch company called CeraCarbon Racing . They make a lot of pretty nice stuff , anyway , the sprocket should go well on the BST .

Hmmmmmm--42 tooth, 388.9g = 13.718 oz. Pretty nice. I use an aluminum 44T and the lightest I've weighed is Vortex at 19.30 oz. I estimate a CeraCarbon 44T would be about 2 oz lighter than that. Maybe I'll look into one for the busa if I get those BST rims I've been dreaming about. I was thinking about going with a Talon for BST.

How does the weight of that K-Factory sprocket compare to the CeraCarbon?

Hi Rook , well straight up the K Factory is lighter, the pictured 42t is still in pack , but the carbon weighed up against a 45t K Factory showed 358 grams . I run a 47t KFactory on the Busa , that might be close to the carbon , hahaha , oh well , still going to try it out . I got a talon too , and KFactory is the lightest I have ever come across , the vortex is very heavy , got them too .

Don't bother with AFAM or Driven because they're heavier than Vortex. Well, K-Factory it is then if I get my BSTs. The CeraCarbon sprocket looks really cool but I'll bet it was expensive. These exotic sprockets don't come up in a search in NA. Did you order form Webike?

The KFactory from Webike , the CeraCarbon Racing from facebook . I had been told about them earlier , a shop in AU has a couple , but I do not do business with that dude .
