This there is NO arguement, the most powerful chain with like zero strecth is the EK 530 ZZZ. I put mine on about 2300 miles ago and with gearing and some pretty serious throttle beatings.........i can't stretch the friggin chain!!!!! But in all seriousness ask any real racers who beat on and have nitro or turbo bikes, most have this chain. There are other very good chains, but this one is like overkill....seriously.

Nasty is correct that is the the name. It's EK530 ZZZ chain. But you don't really need one, just to let you know. The stock is just fine. I only up graded because i needed a new chain with the bike being longer now. I would not spend $150 bucks on a chain just to get one that's for sure.

Going from a 42 rear to a 43, and I was hoping to put a bling chain on at the same time.
Love the EK boyz...

Don't want to beat a dead horse, but did anyone ever confirm it was the sprocket change that was causing some 14R's to stumble just on throttle ?

Someone changed rear sprocket only. There seemed to be a complaint about some intervention. I made comment that there seems to be a tone wheel 'window change' which might trigger the chatter. My thought on the chatter is if I'm in F1, open the throttle briskly, I can hear [I hope] the subs flutter, and [gulp] the ignition knock? But the sub chatter is more pronounced when I occasionally open the throttle more aggressively.

Which brings us back to someone changing both front and rears and the chatter went missing. I could only conclude that the tone wheels were back in sync? No more complaint but cheek to cheek chatter on the net?

INN Sync is dual up!

And my walk sort of says no to the chatter missing on flash mode. Flash still compiles with window sync is my guess?

Hub is right. I changed just my front first. Had stumbling. Hated it. Then just changed back sprocket and it was there again. So I changed the front -1 and the back +1 and perfect now like stock.

I changed the rear on my 2012....went to a 43....it never stumbled or anything....that's why I was so curious about just what was going on with other guy's regearing and all.Mine worked just fine...in every mode and scenario. The only thing it did change was the speedo...I found that the speedo was now reading about 2 mph less than it was with the stock config.Which was okay...cause my stock config placed the speedo at 3 mph OVER the actual speed.(as it is right now with my 2013)

I have to add though...I removed my secondaries early on...before I had that ECU flashed...I did later on return the secondaries back in....BUT...I can't remember IF I had that 43 on the rear at that time.I think so...pretty sure anyway.I rode a bunch with it on there...never a prob. Finally returned her to stock gearing to see if the ride quality would change....it wasn't noticeable to me anyway.

I also had the Brock's mapping for street in there as well...the Flash on the secondary opening rpms/tp time was enabled for an earlier opening time...though IDK if it had any effect on the engine with those flies out.The 'safe mode' secondary action was also disabled...I couldn't detect any difference in pull w/or without secondaries. And I followed another member's suggestion(a guy who had the same flash as mine) to 'try' and see if there was a difference. With mine...I couldn't get it(with flies in)to restrict that I could tell...IDK if that makes any sense...guys are now flashing the ECU mapping and all...bypassing the need for the PC.There's a lot of programs inside that ECU that are now being unlocked. The flashes now are more sophisticated than at the beginning.

IDK IF that stumbling behavior ever was resolved...except by what some have said here recently. It certainly didn't make sense that mine wouldn't be doing that....having the same setup?

I've probably raised more questions with my post here than were wanted...mine didn't stumble...that's with no abs program in play.It should have behaved like those other ones...it didn't.

I know these ECU's have the ability to 'choose' what's working and what isn't.And depending on where it 'chooses' that...as to when the power is turned off in the current configuration....it could be 'clearing' or not 'clearing' the memory.I found that out with my 07 and the ignition settings.

Well Grn14, I caught the part about the ecu flash and not needing a pc, that made my ears perk! :))

My 2012 came with an Enuma chain. The EK 530 ZZZ is made by Enuma. They look the same to me.

You can give it a try but you might get a stumbling while riding. It might take you a lil to find it but it sucks. But in that case you can just buy a 16 tooth front sprocket for 35 bucks and it's fixed. And then your bike will pull alot stronger. Especially for bigger guys gearing is really nice. It gives you a much better chance in case in run into another fast bike!!!

Gearing will keep it smooth. It will just feel like a built 1441 instead of a stock bike. Your right though don't do it because it will just start your hunger for more power. And make you feel your bike was slow before. Like I posted before I took the gearing off for like 3 months and when I first got on it I was like what the hell. Now that it's back on.......it's not coming off. The best way to describe it is yesterday I was on the highway cruising in 6th gear st around 80. I hit the gas for a few seconds when traffic opened up and the bike shot off like I was in 4th gear. It actually is pretty crazy the engine's in these bikes. Now your thinking my bike does that now............not like a geared bike thats for sure. Because when I had the gearing off and did things like that it felt like there was bi time lag . It's hard to explain unless you feel it.

Ha ha ha! It sounds like riding a bike with dry shot! :))) I remember feeling like I could hit the time lag warp speed button at anytime. :))) you are warming me up to this.

RE: Traction control is quick

Ok I got another great example about gearing. I've told you guys about when I race around every once in awhile I ride with an older busa. Just a gen1 busa with friggin slip ons. Now we have the mighty zx14R and on the dyno where I pulled 201hp and 117tq this guys busa (not the same day but still) pulled 153hp and like 97tq. So I rode his one time when we where pulled over taking a break just shooting the shit to see how old and slow the busa felt. DAM that thing felt way stronger than 14r down low. And just rolling into it it was crazy. Now he had stronger gearing done -1+2 but still I was shocked I was killing him in races, until I ran out his bike a lil more, THEN I felt up top where he was down almost 50hp. Up top the 14r is just crazy as you know, where his felt like a 750, to me at least. So that helped get me push into gearing this beast!!!!

Well, I want warp speed! +1,-1 just a little time and a good opportunity to really clean the drive chain setup. Can always swap it back....
So, maybe the plan should be: gearing, slip-ons, ecu flash (self kit)...
I think I am gonna try it and I'm gonna upgrade to the EK chain at the same time. What the heck. Off corner drive should be vigorous...
One question ZX, speedo should still read fine as it receives its signal from the front wheel speed sensor correct?

Hell no cblast don't get me wrong its no where near as crazy as a hit of nitro. To me its more like a turbo. Now again nooooooo where near a turbo in power or feel, but unlike nitro and like turbo its there all the time. But you know you had it on your busa. But to me honest if you just go up in the back you definitely won't feel it that much my opinion is the least you should do is -1+1 to really feel a nice strong pull thru every gear. And for under 100 bucks you cant beat it. If you dont like it you take it right off. No harm no foul.

Yes c your speedo is not effected at all on this bike. It's a 16 tooth front sprocket and a 43 tooth rear. You definitely dont need a new chain with this at all. That's just a waste of money, but to each their own. Now the most important thing to do is get a front sprocket thst has the rubber inside the sprocket like the oem. People's biggest complaint is it gets a lil more vibey and some can hear a very light whining sound. Because all after market front sprockets don't have a built in dampner like stock. So go to the kawi dealer and you'll have to look it up on some sites but I think it's off an older zephyr kawi, but that sprocket fits all year 14 perfectly. I didn't even need the number my dealer has ordered so many for the 14 he had the number for me. But definitely look it up on this site or others. Alot of people do it so the numbers out there.

Correct, front sprocket wheel speed sensor. Another reason you want that gps shift grid to sprocket tooth mapping. I wonder if that is the gear ratio vs. speedo map Justin should be looking for? You figure if something is going to communicate with a sensor, there has to be a 'lookup map?' I need to find that kit-ECU cd and download it again and see what they call it?

Did some quick research. Its off a kawi zephyr the part number is 13144-1317. Its eve4ywhere onthe web. Just type into google 16 tooth front sprocket zx14 off a zephyr. Everyone gets it and loves it if read about it. They said it was 28 bucks from kawi. Hope this helps out if you decide to go for it.
