Putin is a born again Christian. He was an atheist until he survived a car wreck. It feels a little weird to say this but I'm starting admire the guy's fortitude. He makes Obama look like a puss.

Most ex-KGB spooks who have engaged in espionage, torture and the murder of their own countrymen could make Obama look like a puss. Not sure what there is to admire about that. I'm sure Stalin would have been proud.

All the wackos who want to succeed Obama look like pusses compared to pool reporters.

pretty funny Yan.I think hearing the Old Testament 'judgements' was cool.Especially since Christ was sent to fulfill the "law of the Prophets" by His sacrifice. All those 'sins' are now covered by Christ's blood.Which is HUGELY freeing. We don't HAVE to try and fulfill all those...not only can't we(which was why He set them up in the first place)...but the love of God now shows mercy and compassion if we do fall short in Christ. It's a win/win...if you believe such things that is;)

I think that the answer to all of Mr Hitchens questions are "He is God." God can do anything. He's allowed to do anything. He can't be wrong. There's no proving anything against that.

This may sum up many nonbelievers feelings about public prayer. I have not been able to find the article to read it but there is plenty of things written about the article both in support of it and criticizing it. I do not know if the gist of the article is "don't pray." The headline suggests to me that prayer is not working and you better try something that will work.

My feeling is "go ahead and pray but lets also take some other action here." I don't care if you believe that the motivation comes from God or from us but lets do something. The latest attack was laad by an American born Muslim who was leading a successful life as an American. If this is not an isolated incident of a good Muslim gone bad, what are we to expect in the future?

What will happen to other American born Muslims? What about American born Arabs? I have a half Arabic nephew. I believe he's a good kid. How is he viewed now?

To Yanman..well...he's entitled for sure.I wonder though when the was the last time this gent gave his life for someone.Especially a death like Jesus suffered.Jesus WAS the supreme scapegoat...yes.So what's wrong with that I'd ask."The life of the flesh is in the blood"...had there been another way..as Christ asked at the end...it would have gone that way.But there wasn't.The idea that somehow acceptance of this sacrifice is somehow immoral eludes me.I'm just not seein this.Christ OFFERED.Without forcing it on everyone else.

I'm not sure WHY someone would choose to reject this deal.Do they think by accepting that somehow that classes them in some 'lower status' with mankind or something?I just don't get it.Does accepting this 'threaten' their 'self image' of importance? It does just the opposite. It elevates a person. For themselves that is.Not 'better than'...but through a humbling and realization that they're not the center of everything. With this comes an immediate sense of true freedom. From themselves.

Pride and arrogance are ridiculously self imprisoning. It poisons everything it touches. It blocks compassion. It blocks empathy. All the things that make Humans so unique and special from all the other things in the world.Being full of pride only keeps a person looking through the tunnel. They're hurting themselves...but they end up hurting others as well.

The whole scenario from Old Testament to New revolves around man trying to save himself. From what? That's what I'd like to hear...from what?

The Rookster says..."My feeling is "go ahead and pray but lets also take some other action here.""..yep.That's absolutely correct.Faith without works is dead. And of course...works can include praying. It should be remembered. These prayers are NOT being shoved away somewhere in a heavenly file cabinet. They're being heard and God is working in His own way...ways that we humans can't comprehend. This is how I see it and feel about it.God does the answering.Whether through men or whatever means He wants in the natural world.Any changing ultimately comes from God's influence.Man can't take credit for any of this.Harsh as that may seem.To some.

There IS a purpose and reason.Sometimes ya just have to say.."I'm letting go".

Which is what the apostle Paul stated."I die daily".

To oneself. That He may be all...and in all.One believer at a time.

He says..."Just a matter of time..we don't have any problem".

Unfortunately...they think that their Sharia Law is just fine. It's as was mentioned...Fasist and really no different than Stalin's ideology...or Hitler's,or Saddam's.I mean...it really is so obvious. It will fail...just like Hitler did.The world will never accept something like this.No way.

They're performing 'Kristal Nacht' already over there...and really, all over the Middle East where Jews and Christians and the others have been living peacefully alongside each other for centuries.Even alongside Muslims.
This radicalization movement has created a lot of murdering and hatred.Just very sad.People are afriad to say anything. That's how this keeps continuing. The 'moderate' Muslims KNOW the capability of these radical people. They're living in fear already. To say these 'radicals' are any different that the Brown Shirts would be foolish.

Hitler youth...all over again.

These guys WANT the West and the world to hate em.They're trying to intertwine their "Us against Them" mentality into ALL Muslim people. It's totally hijacking the Muslim world.I hope the 'Muslim World' will fight this ugly parasite. It's not fit for Human consumption.

I feel really bad for the women that are caught up in this ideology. And the children.Beating someone into submission has only one goal. The perpetrator's lust for power. It never creates 'love'.It's fear and power based.Sharia Law is just that. It's a one way street."My way or else".Totally contradictory to any semblance of a Loving God."Allah the merciful"?...I don't think so.Not to these guys anyway.Very sad.

"Muslim families in this southern Indiana hamlet are among those feeling more vulnerable as anti-Islamic sentiment heats up across the country in the aftermath of recent extremist attacks.

Here, they have found mostly peaceful coexistence at the edge of the nation's Bible Belt, forming friendly relations with the larger community by working hard to build trust. They began arriving about 30 years ago to take jobs as doctors, business owners, engineers and professors in the area around Evansville, Indiana's third largest city, many settling in this bedroom community known for antique shops, restaurants and nice houses lining manicured streets.

They host an annual food festival and give tours of the new Islamic center, which opened five years ago and serves about 120 families in the region. They help build Habitat for Humanity houses and volunteer at homeless shelters. They've forged friendships with Christian and Jewish congregations.

Still, they worry. Leaders have hired off-duty sheriff's deputies to safeguard their mosque during Friday prayers.

It's the same way they felt after 9/11, when someone rammed a pickup truck into their old Islamic center, shattering several windows.

Instead of hunkering down after that incident, they reached out. And they plan to keep doing so".

The idea that somehow acceptance of this sacrifice is somehow immoral eludes me.I'm just not seein this.

I felt the same way at first. Nobody has to accept Christ as their savior so why should anyone have anything to say about it? However, I think the point is that forgiveness of sins by a person other than the person who was sinne against is immoral. But of course the answer to that is "He is God." You sin against God when you commit any sin. God is the one who forgives you regardless of who else may have suffered form the transgression.

If you believe, you believe and if you don't you don't. there's no convincing the other side no matter what argument you present. That's what faith is. Trusting no matter what...and that is why some nonbelievers see faith as dangerous. Also why we have different sects within Christianity. If you believe God is in control, you might just handle a venomous snake. Now we're back to the "why not jump off a cliff and see what happens" discussion.

Hub, that video is scary. I've seen others like it. This is a concern all over the world and it's about time we start doing something about it.

.That's absolutely correct.Faith without works is dead. And of course...works can include praying

Let's do some works then. Pray but I hope people realize this is going to require killing radical Muslims and lots of it. What will happen when moderate Muslims are a majority and non-Muslims are fighting a loosing battle against radical Muslims?

This radicalization movement has created a lot of murdering and hatred.Just very sad.People are afriad to say anything. That's how this keeps continuing. The 'moderate' Muslims KNOW the capability of these radical people. They're living in fear already. To say these 'radicals' are any different that the Brown Shirts would be foolish.

zacly.

.I hope the 'Muslim World' will fight this ugly parasite.

Many will until it becomes obvious that the non-Muslim world is about to crumble.

Maybe we will see what moderate Muslims do if they become victims of some of the terror attacks that will happen. If I hear they're pulling guns out and shooting back like any other American might, I will be encouraged. I'd love to see the moderate Muslims step up first and prove their loyalty to America and the West. Like The French President told Obama regarding the Paris attack, 'thanks for the moral support but we hope America will offer more than well wishes."

"Maybe we will see what moderate Muslims do if they become victims of some of the terror attacks that will happen"

In this country...they can and are trying to distance themselves from these others. Here they can push back. But remember...this 'terrorism by fear' that they've had to endure 'over there' is not something that is just gonna go away overnight.Plus...many have families still 'over there'.It's very real. And very deadly. As Americans..we sometimes can forget the deep desperate fear these people have RIGHT NOW.If they can't feel safe here,or have loved ones 'over there' that can be safe...no amount of us or anyone saying.."yeah,it's okay...you can speak out" is gonna change their own realities of life under death threats and such that they've been living with for centuries.Even though they might be safe here...the underlying fear doesn't just go away cause they're in America. It helps...but most of these people have been brainwashed at some level during their lives. They have a lot of deep scars. But they are beginning to really step up though.I think so anyway.

Remember...Those societies have a long history of 'surveillance' between citizens. It's no wonder these societies want to keep Western observers OUT.If the world realized just how repressed they are...and it got out over the mainstream to these people...you'd see WAY more outcry from em.This is happening however all over the Middle East...and other countries as well.

It's whole different ball game now with the Internet and such.Finding someone is very easy. The track record is damn clear...'you betray Isis(or 'Islam'[if viewed through a more 'extreme' viewpoint])and you're next, including your friends and family that are still accessible'.

The moderate loving Muslims are really between a rock and hard place.Especially as these events continue to foster a "Muslims are all bad" mindset.I feel for em,I really do.There's LOTS of loving Muslims out there.Just as there are Chinese,Japanese, you name it.Jews,Catholics.All of em.

That's a shame. I'm still not so sympathetic. This is wartime and protecting Muslims is not a priority over protecting any other religion. If we have Muslim communities such as that in Brussels, shouldn't at Least those people be considered enemies? They are definitely establishing their own laws. That's an enemy in my book.
