The GPR is awesome. Worth every penny. Solid predictable laser like handling. Confidence inspiring at lean. Excellent adjustability. The rotary style is consistent always, no stiction ever. I think it was an absolute necessity for when I am pushing hard at the track or on the street.

I don't think I could find an answer to that question when I was damper shopping. Probably the best damper is the stock one located on my busa. It has an elctronic sensor to activate if there is ever any headshake. I've never noticed the slightest zing in the steering on that bike. It is an oil tube type damper. The 14r really should have updated with a similar stock damper.
I suppose the reason the Gen1 ZX-14 doesn't come with a stock damper is because it is such a stable bike at speed. I so rarely have heard people report that they experienced a tank slapper (1 or two reports on this forum over the last 6 years). NEVER have I heard of anyone crashing from a true tank slapper that oscillates out of control. However, I do notice a quick whip in the steering touching down from wheelies or maybe hitting a bump in a corner when I have my damper off. I imagine the geometry of the Gen2 is equally or more reliable but perhaps with the extra power, the head shakes are more common.
I chose the Hyper-Pro RSC because I like the looks the best (it really is more of a decoration on the 14) and like an electronic damper, it is only active if there is a violent steering input. Steering at all speeds with the Hyper-Pro at max tension feels exactly the same as riding with no damper. So, how do I know it even works?? I have never felt ANY whips in the steering with it on the bike....so I guess it does what it's supposed to do. I always leave mine close to max.
The RSC is the one to get. The CSC model is for stunting. Looks like the CSC does not have as much max power but provides a noticeable amount of damping at low speed. Annitori is a good place to buy. That guy has lots of info about the product. Motomummy is a bit cheaper (but I've had problems getting reliable tech info from them about three different products they sell).
One thing that sucks about this damper, is that you need to remove it in order to take off the tank fairing. Nice to have the steering stem hole open for a camera mount though.
The real question (since data regarding anti-tank slapperability among the various brands is not available) is, "what is best, a rotary or an oil tube." As Cblast mentioned, there is no possibility that a rotary will be effected by stiction of elongated parts. However, if you look at the design, a rotary, lacking the elongated parts, has far less leverage against rapid steering inputs. Perhaps a rotary doesn't need the leverage?? IDK, never saw any data comparing the relative power of various dampers (but I do know the Gen3 ZX-10r stock Ohlins damper needed to be revalved to increase its power--the dampers straight from Ohlins are good).
I heard lots of stories about the old GPR leaking oil. Maybe they fixed that. The Ohlins rotary was a good one.
To sum it all up, pick the one you like the looks of the most. Like I said, it's mainly eye candy.

I have the Brocks/Ohlins and it performs perfectly and looks nice as well. My only complaint is the ability to adjust it on the fly. The knob is so small it's hard to adjust while wearing gloves. If I could get a do over I'd go with the GPR. It not only looks easier to adjust but also has numbers around it to verify your setting with just a glance. I have to count clicks on mine. And I do change settings depending on the roads I'm riding, North for me is tight bumpy mountain roads, south of me is more high speed sweepers, smooth roads.

I sort of think of it in the opposite way: "pick what everybody else picks because the reason they all pick it is because it is given the majority of positive reviews in forum queries like this one." I don't have the money to do all the market testing at 3-500 dollars a crack or more. Go with the crowd when it comes to modding. You won't have to wonder "did I buy the right thing, is that one better." I will say this though, the Hyper-Pro was almost unheard of when I bought it at the suggestion of a knowledgable road racer. If he hadn't given it the nod, I'd have bought an Ohlin's or a Brock's.

A lot depends on your riding style or what yosame used most and are conformable with. Ask most how many different tire brands they have actually tired as a comperrision? Most go by what brand racers use , whats most popular, or say magazine tests or Internet reports or what thier buddy recommended. What tires that work for me may not for you because of a number of things.
Your bike setup vs mine, my weight vs yours, my riding style vs yours, ect.
As an example a friend of mine has a similar 1000cc bike. His a suzuki mine a kawasaki. Same bridgestone s20 tire.
He rides real agressive all the time. Take offs from stop lights, any tristy road, does some burn outs, any chance to pin it and hit high speeds when ever possible. Never checks tire air pressure. Never gets suspension setup for h8s we8ght Gets 3-4k out of a set of tires.
Me. Smooth take offs from stop lights , hits same tyisty roads but is smoother on same roads, keeps same speed but less braking and acceleration needed to keep same pace. No burn outs. Suspension correctly setup for my weight. Through in a track day. Checks air pressure before every ride. Gets 6-8k out of same tire.

I really like all those but the Scott's calls to me because of added abilities for what they call high speed dampening. Which supposedly dampens effects form not only oscillations from side to side but also from front impact and up/dowm as when hitting bumps.

I imagine the steering is pretty stiff when you turn it to max tension.

I have one on my zx10 also. It performs. And there customers service is great. Can also be moved from bike to bike with different mount. Even if you get a used one it can be sent in for services at a nominal fee.
Scott's information

Hi 06blackpearl,
Where did you get the updated titanium Hyperpro from? Looks great.
Also do you have it centraly mounted as it looks too far left (look at Rooks)?

You can clamp it wherever you want it. I chose to clamp mine as far to the left as possible so it would be braced against the top thing that sticks up. that way it couldn't slip to the left. I doubt it makes any dif where you clamp it.
