2014 Route Napoleon/French Alps
09/21/14 4:13 PM

I did this trip earlier this month. It was an EPIC trip, ticked a box on my bucket list. Over 1800 miles and the ZX-14R did it with ease. Amazing bike and amazing roads!

Made a few vids with my Garmin Virb Elite. I had to put in music as the wind noise was to much.

Thanks!

I was really regretting selling my S1000RR. Until this trip, I hadn't put the ZX14R through it's paces. I got to know the my bike really well and I'm liking it more than ever. It tours well, handles well, has MPG range, tremendous power, and is very fun to ride.

The tires used for the trip were, PR4's. Bought them new for this trip. They got scrubbed in really well :P The tires were excellent. Handled corners well and didn't slip and slide at all. Hard braking wasn't an issue either.

Wow, those roads look fantastic WildPete!

BTW, I am running the PR4 and am highly impressed with it.

This was the first time I've ridden with and met these guys. I was really impressed by their riding abilities. New friends made during this 1800 mile trip. All riders except one were on ZX14's, the other rider was on a RSV4R. Considering I never ride in groups I got comfortable riding with these guys. There was no pressure trying to keep up. If a rider got stuck in traffic, 2nd in line would wait for the trail rider. I preferred to ride the end of the line since group riding was new to me. Playing catch up was pretty fun when I had to make up ground.

Glad you guys enjoy the vids. Feel free to pass them on. This was the first time using the Garmin Virb Elite camera. I really like the displays. I was blown away by the road lay outs when they come up to edit. I knew they were twisty but some of the lay outs were just sick...awesome!

Anyone have any suggestions for external mic set up?
