AMSOIL at a lower price
08/11/09 1:12 PM

There have been a lot of good things said on the forum about AMSOIL motorcycle oil. The drawback seems to be the price, which is a bit higher than most other brands. There is an AMSOIL dealer who will pay the cost for your 6 month Preferred Customer account if you will purchase a case of oil. This "Preferred Customer" thing lets you buy AMSOIL products at a discount.

I've gone ahead and signed up, and they seem like nice folks.

If you're interested, send your:

  • Name
  • Shipping address
  • Email address
  • Phone number

and mention that you are a zx14ninjaforum.com member.

Send this info to tjsynthetics@bellsouth.net. They will send you back your Preferred Customer account number, and then you can order at http://www.lubedealer.com/t&jsynthetics.

The forum doesn't benefit from this, but you might... -bg

Amsoil is very good oil, I've used it. Other than the price, a lack of over the counter local sales is a problem for me. I hate ordering stuff online, paying shipping, waiting etc. Personally I'd rather run down to Autozone or Walmart and buying my stuff when I'm ready. Thats another reason I use Mobil 1 4T Racing 10W 40 exclusively, yeah it's outrageously high too but available locally.

Well, when you live in a backwater town, you get used to ordering stuff online in order to get good stuff, so that's not a problem for me. They seem to be very fast. I got a UPS tracking email a couple of hours after I placed the order. They have distribution points all over the country, so I expect to see the oil soon.

I've had Rotella in the bike. Think I'll send a sample to Blackstone and then run the AMSOIL about the same number of miles and send a sample of that, then run Mobil 1 about the same number of miles and send a sample of that. Might be interesting... -bg

That would be very enlightening bg. Looking forward to the results.

Actually the more I think about it we should have a sticky where everyone can post his total miles and oil analysis results. Everyone could use Blackstone Labs to eliminate variables in machine calibration. Those crazy oil threads go on and on because nothing can ever be proven one way or the other. I could make the claim that Pep Boys or WalMart brand 10W40 oil is the greatest stuff since sliced bread for your 14. I can neither prove it nor can anyone else disprove it. The only real way to prove that a particular oil is superior is from real world oil analysis testing.

Sure, Scott. Post away if you like, as long as they don't have a problem with having it in a public forum.

Thanks. -bg

I'm an Amsoil dealer myself. If you become a dealer you get it at a lower price. The cost to be dealer is not that much. I use it in my zx14 as well as my other cars so it pays for itself in the long run. I've used Amsoil for about 20 years. I had a 1990 zx-10 that I sold with over 100,000 miles on it. I adjusted the valves only one time. It ran great at the time I sold it. I put amsoil in it when it had only 2000 miles on it. If you want to be a dealer let me know. email ajeske@roadrunner.com

BG..I applied for a Preferred Customer, and supplied the information as you stated, and got an email from a lady saying she was "trying to get me a Preferred Customer number" and after a week, still nothing.

Hi everyone, At T&J Synthetics we have been very pleased to offer free preferred customer memberships to all member's here and we'd like to thank Bill for advertising here for us. At this time we are on a very steep downside. We are sad to have to discontinue what we enjoyed doing for you guys so much. We are cutting every cost possible to get this program back for you all. We will no longer be able to be reached at tjsynthetics@bellsouth.net. Our personal email address at touchetj@msn.com or our cell 337-962-6376 is where we can be reached if there is anything we can help anyone with. Many friends have been made through the bike community and that is what we are most grateful for. Thanks to you all for the support.

An Amsoil dealer gets better pricing than preferred does. If anybody wants to be a dealer, they can only sign up under another dealer. I'm been a dealer for amsoil for about 15 years now and I can sign anybody up if they want. You oreder it and they ship it directly to your house

What does it cost to become a dealer, and is there a volume requirement?

I use amsoil in everything. Have been for years and I love it. Put 60k miles on my old busa with amsoil. I have a membership so its a little cheaper.

I have to give a BIG ole thumbs up on the Amsoil thing. I have used it for years and its a great oil. Also have a membership so it makes it well worth it. I ran Amsoil for nearly 60k miles in my 06 busa I had before the ninja and when I had the bike bored out to a 1397 we checked the valve clearance in it needed shims. It was still within original specs and that was with 40k miles on it. At 59k when I sold it still no adjustments needed. Amsoil 10/40 and Amsoil oil filter every 3k miles. Good stuff. Im using Alisyn Pro Drive now but from all the research I was able to do on oils, Amsoil is one of the best possible next to Alisyn.
