Wheel jacks
04/17/13 9:56 PM

Hey guys, I need some more advice.... I want to buy a front and rear wheel jack for my 14r. I assume they are different. Can y'all give me some advice on which one works the best, easiest, and affordable... Where do those rear ones lift at, the axle or the swing arm? Thanks

I would get Pit Bull Stands. Get some spools for the rear and lift from there. If you still have the rear fender on your bike make sure you get the Pit Bull that's made for that set up. For the front I would get this one:

Pit Bull Hybrid Stand. It lifts from the triple tree but you can purchase separate hardware to lift from the forks.

I bought the Swingarm Spool Sliders for $15.99 HERE, and Cycle Gear Trackside Rear Paddock Stand was on sale for $39.99 HERE. The rear stand is now $49.99 Excellent deal and it works great.

Thanks guys
I can't wait to be done. A throttle sync, reflash and some items are backordered and then I can button her back up, hopefully soon. I'm just tired of riding naked for short distances LOL

Hard to beat prices Kofla!

It's definitely a tight fit. You have to go in from the side of the fender but the part that touch the fender is covered with some red rubber so you won't scratch your plastic, at least not enough to notice it down there. My garage is not level which makes matter worst but I would buy it again!

^^^sounds just how I would describe using the PB Forklift with steering stem converter bar....or the PB Newfrontstand I use for my busa.

Guide the peg in with your thumb over the hole to avoid scraping the top inner fairing.

If the Hybrid is like my PB stands, the rubber cover will protect the fender but the U shaped bar might hit....throw a towel over the fender the first few times just to be safe. It's is not such a hazard now that I understand how to get the peg in and how the hinged part of the stand works. It goes right in.

I have heard positive feedback about the removable handles offered with PB stands. They are a real tripping hazard and they take up floor space. I would get a removable handle. I've been told they fit very solidly to the stand when attached.

I also have the Cycle Gear rear stand. Works fine. I have a T-Rex front stand which functions like the Pit Bull in the pics. For about half the cost of a PB stand. As far as construction goes, Pit Bull is probably the best.

i agree. i have Pit Bull stands and a Heindle Engineering (which i highly recomend). The Pit Bulls are made of very beefy tubing and mostly welds, not screws. but really, they are hefty enough for a truck. yeah the 14 is heavy but not dso heavy you NEED Pit Bulls. I still like them but a much cheaper stand will do fine. many like T-rex stands.

I also went around about what stands to buy and at the end off the day I bought the pit bulls. I was kicking myself for paying so much, but once they showed up and I reached the box and grabbed the first one I instantly understood the price. Amazingly solid. I got a great deal from motomummy.com
