Update/advice needed!
03/04/17 3:48 PM

Hey all,

Bike is coming along nicely, I have an alien head 2 waiting to be installed. Making sure I have everything in order before I start dismantling the bike.

I was wondering if anyone replaced their airfilters? If so what are some suggestions?

Also in terms of a radiator guard anything to point out there? Any that stand out?

Also any tips and tricks will be appreciated, first time taking her apart should be fun

I would remove the radiator to put the full system on. That or remove top bolts to tip it forward and at least put a piece of cardboard over it to protect it.

Use OEM filter. Remove metal screen if you want. Little to no benefit from a race filter on the 14. Always a risk of contamination with an aftermarket filter.

Radiator guards sometimes don't fit right.

I've been looking for a decent rad guard for the 14 since I punched a hole in my zx10 rad and
they wanted like $800 for OEM radiator. Had repaired instead $70

Added a COX to the 10, not really happy with using zip ties to attach and having
to bend it around to fit decent. Although they are popular.

Evo Tech would be my first choice but they don't seem to have one my zx14 2012 or
my zx10 maybe newer year fit '12?

I did just recently find this one from Rad Guard .com I think I'm going to order and try it.
