OK it's time for me to get a new set of gloves. So I was wondering what gloves do you wear?

I have a pair of summer, winter and regular leather gloves. The summer gloves I use are these

I don't recommend them. The black (I guess it's spandex?) material immediately next to the velcro has torn from pulling them on. They have reinforced key areas such as knuckle guards and the part at the base of the finger palm side so it's unfortunate they didn't have the common sense to reinforce where one constantly tugs on the glove to don them. And it's a shame, really, because these are, by far the best gloves I've owned for summer riding as the material lets your hands breathe quite nicely.

My winter gloves are these I have no complaints about these. They do their job which is to keep my hands toasty during 60 or cooler weather. Haven't tested them below freezing yet because I usually don't ride when it's 32 or lower.

webbikeworld.com has excellent reviews for just about any kind of riding gear you can imagine and, if they don't have it, you can ask them.

The other gloves I wear are Joe Rocket and, well, after having their stuff for a while and listening to the complaints of folks on sport-touring.net, I shy away from Joe Rocket. I'd have to call it a quality control issue.

My next pair will most likely be Dainese or Alpinestars. You really do get what you pay for, IMO.

Lee Parks Pci gloves are long lasting and very comfortable. Read his spiel on how they are made and why. Very comfortable to wear and safe. I have been wearing them for years. They are not for power rangers. They work great in the rain with heated grips. Warm in the cold and cool in the heat.

Which pci's do you have? The sport or tour? Ever heard anyone "testing" them in a "get-off"?

Alpine star GP Tech, GREAT glove! They held up incredibly well in my lowside and I slid on my hand for 25-30 yards on the track. Can barely even tell!

I have three pairs of gloves too, summer, winter and a cool weather glove. I wear my summer gloves for about 9 months out of the year. Then I move to the cool weather gloves for a month or so then straight to the winter gloves for the rest of the year.

My summer gloves are Cortech Accelerator Series 2 black. You can check out this web site for price and reviews,
Cortech This is my third seasons wearing these gloves. They've held up real good. Just within the last month a noticed that I have a small hole on the left index finger tip. I guess it's just more ventilation, lol! Now my other gloves I don't remember what they are due to the fact that I'm at work and I don't wear them much.

I have both types of Pci gloves. The gauntlet pci I wear most of the time but the short ones are great for around town. Ihave worn them in 100 degree weather and 30 degree weather ( with heated grips). They are more resistant to abrasion than leather because they are deerskin. Race gloves always get holes from wear spots. these seem to las forever.

Most of the time I use some Frank Thomas Kangaroo shorties for everyday running around. They are really comfortable and have held up well except for the velcro at the wrist(its coming unsewn) for the last 2 years, which for me is pretty good. When I'm going on a club ride or when I feel like more protection would be good, I use RS Taichi GP MAX gauntlets. They are a little Power Rangerish but awesome protection!
I ordered some Cortech Injector's on closeout but the leather looks and feels really cheap and I'm going to return them.

Dainese for me,they saved my hands on a 200k get off,Shoie RF1000 saved my head,I will never wear joe rocket again as I broke my shoulder collar bone and some ribs.I think a better jacket would have saved me from some road rash and broken bones, but I have no intention to test my Dainese gear

the jackets aren't designed to stop you from breaking bones! They are for the rash, the pads and plates might help some, but, the main job is save the skin!

Really? What do you think the back protector in the jacket is for? How about those elbow and shoulder guards? I had an accident wearing full gear and I definitely believe, had it not been for the padding in the right places on the jacket, I would've broken my ribs and arm.

exactly, granted if the seams ripped a part which I wouldn't doubt when it comes to Joe Rocket gear you sholuld be pissed. If the jacket was not zipped to your pants and it got pushed up during the crash and you got some rash well thats a chance you took. It sounds like you were pretty lucky only to brake your collar bone and some ribs I mean you were going almost 125mph when you crashed. If you were in a 3000 dollar suit you still would have broke some bones

Really? What do you think the back protector in the jacket is for?

I think what he means and what I mean is that its not the primary duty of the jacket/suit/pants. . If you crash even a low side at 125 expect to break some bones. FYI the foam back protectors that come in high end and low end jackets are a joke get a hard shell back protector that fits on your body.

Joe Rockets short cuff AKA light weight summer gloves after a minor get off could you imagine what would happen to your hands at 70mph,90 mph or 125 mph? For $100 bucks more his hands would not be mangled and he would still have the gloves. Hey but no one rides that fast ever on this forum ever right ?

This is not a picture of me I don't wear cheap gear nor textile

i was wearing full joe rocket the seams did rip apart.I dont think any product would of saved me from the broken collar bone, but I do think Dainese would of save my shoulder, ribs and a lot of pavement hickies,I just bought a Dainese vintage jacket it has hard armour, provision for a back protector.my only complaint is a non removeable liner and poor ventilation so its a spring fall jacket. The armour can be removed and the jacket could be worn out for casual dress

My Frank Thomas kangaroo skin gloves saved my palms in a track day get off.
That Roo skin is tough stuff!!!
Wear various winter gloves. My sons ride, so gloves disappear round here. lol
Love my heated Gerbings when temps drop below 40.
Currently wearing Falco track gloves for warm weather. Trick gloves, many features, Roo skin, titanium finger guards, sown on little finger, perforated leather between fingers. For 1/3 the cost of bigger names.
Have some Alpinestar shorty mesh gloves, but they are on the shelf forever.(see above post for why)

At my trackday getoff (120mph highside) my Shift 2pc gear saved my rotator cuff and collarbone. The impact shattered my shoulder blade (scapula) with never touched anything!! Later found out the scapula will break from shock easily.
But the armored CE pad really did its job. My doctor said without it my arm would have required extensive work and still might not be functional.
My boots also saved my feet from being shattered. My heels hit so hard they turned black 2 weeks later except for the heels. The shock absorber feature protected the heels but again the shock traveling down my feet gave the whole foot deep contusions!
The CE padding in my hips also came to my rescue. The impact made my hips swell 3" each side!!! The impact side stayed black for 2 months!! Was very very lucky I had no damage to the blood veins in the hip socket, nevermind no breakage.
Shoei rf1000 with tighter cheek pads did its job. Quality properly fitted helmet. Nuff said.

With a cheap tracksuit and gear I am very sure I would have had broken feet, hideously destroyed clavicle, broken hip and extensive skin loss.
I dont want to think what could have happened if I had a cheap OR poorly fitted helmet!!!

$1500 in gear destroyed. What a great investment!!!!!

So you think I wear cheap gear on the street? Joe Rocket and similar is just in the pages of my cycle magazines and not in my gear closet.
