So, after figuring out that I ain't done yet, I put my $250 SV650 together and signed up for another track day at Thunderhill Raceway. The track day was on a Monday, so of course it decided to SNOW up here on Saturday. I was having some stress wondering if I could get my trailer out. Luckily the snow turned to rain so I had no trouble getting loaded and on my way at 5:30 am.
Got to the track, got my paperwork and pushed the bike to Tech. And was informed that my fork seal was leaking. OOP ! He said to keep an eye on it and I was good to go.
First session was following the instructors and we caught up with the group ahead of us and ended up basically idling around the track so I pulled in. I remembered the layout from my racing days so no problem there
Next session was Open Track so now the fun started. The SV is a delight to ride, very nimble and has decent power. I still have trouble bending my left knee so I was soon dragging my toe all over the place.
I discovered that I'm still good on the parts of the track where I was good when racing and I still suck on the parts I had trouble with before. Gonna have to work on that.
In conclusion I had a wonderful time and am already signed up on May 13. This time with new fork seals and heavier oil.
