I was in my car driving back from a getaway along Hwy 9, Santa Cruz Mountains. Came across someone who appeared did not make the downhill sharpe curve and went into a ditch. Lots of bikers giving the guy moral support before the ambulance hauled him off. He'll be fine, his dignity and his bike took a beating. (I have a scanner in the car, so heard they did take him to hospital with shoulder injury)

Yeah, it's been a bad month for those of us who ride 9/84 /Skyline. A friend of mine was on a group ride and missed a left turn, crossed into a right turn and hit a car. Died at the scene. He usually rode a ZX6 but this day was on his new ( to him) TL1000S. Be careful out there...

You probably recognize this curve. Hwy 9, downhill toward Boulder Creek, less than a mile after the stop sign that goes to Big Basin. It's that nasty downhill curve shortly before the hairpin. I've lived up here for a long time, so I know each curve. I'm not sure what happened here, but likely just too much speed downhill and he panicked before the curve (which is posted with suggested speed 20 mph).

Yeah, I know that curve. A quick downshift and a late apex for me there. I'm kind of surprised he didn't save his bail for the hairpin, add some more bodywork to the pile. But that turn is a little bit tricky if you're not familiar with it I agree.

Sucks.....you don't ride SoCal long before you see several crashes.

I am sure we are going to hear about lots of other accidents!
