Question for you Rook. You've got a lot of miles on your 14. I'm sure you've replaced your front brakes a few times. I want the best for my 2012 14r. What would you recommend?

I've got 49k on my 4 and I changed pads at about 24,000 miles. They were not past the markers yet but it seeed like good preventative maintenance. I went to EBC HH sintered pads and they perform about the same as OEM which is good enough for me. The HHs have been in up to now and I have liked them because they are quiter than the stocks. The HHs have been a bit squeaky under light braking the last few thousand miles like the stockers were from day one and I'm about to change again. I'd like to try something different but HHs again would be fine with me.

Hey now!
The main issue is people putting Sintered racing pads on a street bike and then
just putting around. They will not get hot enough, glaze over, squeak
and can be unnecessarily rough on your rotors.
The carbon fiber (organic of days past) are softer, easier to get heat
into them and will not attack your rotors. Won't glaze over and squeak either
because they are actually getting some wear in them.
Pads are easy to replace and not very expensive. Rotors are expensive.
All being said, for the 14 on the street I would buy the OEM pads. Seem
to be a pretty good pad blend and first set lasted 20k. Will not have
to clean rotors either since staying with same pad.
If using something like EBC HH sintered blend, as long as you just remember to use the brakes,
hard, every now and then you can keep them from glazing over and eliminate squeaking too.
Clean rotors too before installing different pads.
my 2 cents.

Pads in general......
OEM
Carbone Lorraine (like these, like the C60)
SBS Brake Pads
Vesrah
.....
(further down the list)
....
....
EBC
I really like the CL's have a "great feel", no fade, but
wear pretty quick. Not all the expensive though to replace.
Every pad I try I seem to keep comparing them back to the feel of the CL's.
Probably try some different Vesrah's next.
I'm just not a EBC fan. They are Hard as a rock, very little feel, pretty much on
or off, they do last pretty good and are marketed well and easily available.
Personal preference I guess.

Anyone ever heard of Volar Motorsports? Amazon has their brake pads for the 14. HH sintered. 10 pads, 8 for the front and 2 for the back. Price? $28.79 for the set. Does this sound too good to be true or could they be junk?
The OEM pads put some wear on my OEM rotors. The EBCs don't seem to have worn my CZ rotors any worse. Far as feel, they are identical to OEM as far as I'm concerned. I probably don't ever get them hot as they should be for peak performance but it is no worse than stock and that to me is very good. If I'm going aftermarket though, I want something different. The HHs are really not if you ask me. Good but no dif.
I will try the Carbon Lorraines. I need new pads and the CZ rotors are supposed to have organic pads anyway. I think i checked with Carrazzeria and the guy OKed CL years back.
Piken, where can I buy Carbon Lorraine C-60s? The only ones I see for the 14 are on EbayEurope.

C60 and the XBK5 also might be worth a try.
same pads for zx14 06+ (and ZX6, like 06-12?)
My 14 and my zx10 have same Nissin calipers and use same pads
C60's = CL1177C60
Not sure if the newer C59 is replacing or what, but seems to be listed
in some places, but still show C60 too, like on CL web site.
I think last set I got was on Ebay but was just hunting around for best price.
Spiegler lists them......
