Stupid motorcycle purchases
12/28/17 8:02 AM

Looking back on some of my stupid decisions in regards to my zx14.
While I dont regret buying my bike, I did spend money foolishly on aftermarket add-ons:
1. Turbo - not recommended for those afraid of triple digit speeds.
2. Wheels - should have stopped after getting zx10 wheels for weight savings.
My new Braking B1 are same weight as stock. Almost caused me to
Crash due to incorrect spacer, cause rear wheel lock on highway.
3. DIY - mods take way too much time, and dont look as sharp as new equipment.

I guess the dopamine rush has worn off, better check ebay for for a fidget spinner I can mount on my tail so I can restore proper hormonal balance.

Your 14 is certainly among the most unique, Nova. I love it just how it is. Yes the home made mods sure do take time. If you want to clean them up, you can always redo them while keeping the bike in operation with the original ones. I can see how some of the things you have done have a hand made look but it is a very careful and precise hand made and that makes all the difference between looking sharp and looking rough.

Yeah, those wheels though. That's a shame. At least they were not too terribly expensive. Go with the crowd on the more spendy items.

Sounds like you had very good luck putting the turbo together. That sort of makes up for the wheels. I know you'll say the turbo has been a PITA to get running perfect but everyone that adds a turbo has that compatibility search phase.
