Blue, check the for sale section over at forums.concours.org every so often and searchtempest.org to search craigslist.org nationwide. I found someone selling a Concours seat in Miami and she shipped it.

THIS....

Compared to THIS..

The thinner one was "okay"...except my fusion in my lower back began aching with the "less" amount of foam.Just added some connie foam on there, shaped it again some, and re-covered.It's all good.Me happy again.!14's ROCK!!!!

I may be wrong here...but since I've done these various "lowering" mods...I actually think the bike handles much more solid and planted with an "almost" stock configuration. When the seat was "lower"(as in the bottom pic),the feel in the curves was, well,"not secure" feeling.I can't really explain it...probably my own body placement and stuff. But I always felt I couldn't quite get er leaned in enough with the lower seat(but she WAS definitely leaning).Like she was gonna slip out from under me.And the lowering links and lower fork position caused the handling to go south in the curves. She never did want to hold a line.Constant wandering throughout the turns.I guess for me anyway,a "somewhat" lowered seat places my body position kinda "over" the midpoint in the frame, and gives me a way better feel of control than being too low.Dunno...fun to experiment ya know?I do the hanging off style at times, and other times I just lean in with my weight slightly off the center line to the inside. The lowered frame just didn't do it for me.The frontend didn't feel right.Like it was getting ready to let go.Stiffening the suspension didn't help too much. Some, but it was never quite right. If I stiffened the suspension to keep er from wandering in the curves, then the ride quality just went out the window on the straights...way too bumpy.Right now she's set up for a "175" lb rider....the settings are a bit above what it would be from the factory,a 150 lb rider. She's doing awesome!.I love my 14...sweetest bike I've ever owned.

Well, at least you finally figured out lowering the front end is going to make the handling worse.

Maybe some others considering lowering a ZX14 will rethink it, if they intend to expect it to handle the twisties well. LOL.

One might consider Kawasaki did a whole lot of testing to make that big beast handle as well as it can, without increasing the price another US$10k.
