Shiz, this stuff haunts me...When I see a bike behind me, I move over to the right of the lane to let the bike pass. I had not considered that this may put a rider at risk, when oncoming traffic is also a great threat. Sometimes staying alive is more about luck, than skills. Although I don't think I would ever be inclined to pass like this bloke.

Holy shit! I don't know what passing laws they have. I guess lane splitting is legal in some places but this not even lane splitting between traffic going same direction. This is passing like on a highway with a single lane on each side. If there is a solid line, you don't pass. I mean, yeah, I know we can on our 14s but in a corner??? You might just accelerate at hyperspace headlong into a car.

When I lived in England in the late 80's it was common for bikes (even groups of bikes) to ride right on the line with traffic passing both ways. The only time it was a problem for me was when a bike was coming the other way <yikes>... close call.

What kind of wreckless idoit does that, anyway?
Answer is alot, sadly.
I know alot of bikes slice their way up between lanes all the time (lane slicing, as has been said), but his guy is gambling with his life doing that on a single lane, and on the outside, AND around corners. Wackjob.
You can hear something get crunched off on either the car or the bike, so they made contact.
And that is the exact bike I trade for the 14R, a 2012 Z1000.
