On a 2012 ZX14R I want to install a 12V deer alert. I want the wiring to go to a wire that is activated only after the key is turned on. I found such a wire connector under the seat,RED and BLACK/YELLOW, which I think might go to the tail light. Would this be a suitable connection? If not where is a good place to go without taking everything off the bike to get access and will not cause other problems?

The rear tail light is the best option for that kinda install!

Full Muzzy, flies out,K&N, black wind screen, pc3, pm wheels, blue led gauges and lights, scorpip alarm, roaring toyz kickstand and lowering links, tinted turn sigs.

There is a wire/connection under the seat on the leftside near the tank that is right next to the the two sets of wires/connections coming from the fuel pump they are in a tall narrow foam block, it's the little guy to the left or under those two, that is the power for the license plate light, confirm it by disconnecting it. I'd use that one if you're going to splice into wires, rather have the LP light go out than the tail light if it were to short.
