scottjkyl used a spray tint to black out his signals and it worked well for him. I'd PM and ask him what product he used.

I see colored lenses for taillights and turn signals all the time on fleabay. I considered a blue taillight lens, but I'm afraid the local constabulary wouldn't see the humor.
