Hellow fm Canada
07/07/17 2:26 PM

Hi guys, new to site, just picked up 07 zx14, have had lots of bikes in past, this is my first 14.
So this seems to be the logical step to join a good forum with peoples with much more experience than
me with some of the questions that will arise.
look forward to some good chats.

It's going well, seems a whole lot of combined experience on this site. Have stayed away from 14's up until now, thought I would give one a try. Have had aZx 10, have a new Z900, which my wife now gets. Have to say I am very impressed with bike, wonder why I stayed away for so long! Great bike! Have no idea how I could ride it to its potential :)
Have never experienced such wonderful roll on power and torque! Have had many bikes, just have to adjust to its physical size as well.
It appears you have tinkered with your quite a bit

Pretty much. There's still no end in site. That's why it's so much fun!

Haaa, I guess what I am saying is that with other bikes (smaller) I have had, have become accustom to power, start
To lose a bit of respect for them and push them a little hard. Don't see that happening with this. Had a 07 zx10, really liked it and respected its power, but it was more of a all or nothing bike when power came on. This is
Very smooth, very enjoyable. Has full exhaust (tiforce) powr cmmdr, flies removed, air filter, raised bars, Corbin seat, 12v adapt, tank bag, 3 windshields. Very nice cond, says it was Dino mapped for the exhaust which really doesn't matter to me. Just a great bike.

Welcome denn. Lots of good info and experience here. I am also new to the 14.

What part of Canada are you from?

From Alberta, a little town called Lac La Biche, some of the greatest scenery, lakes and culture....and bugs :(
I think there is only 2 corners in the whole county so you get well known quickly!
What about you?
And what 14 did you purchase?

I know Alberta quite well denn. Born in Wetaskawin, lived in Edmonton for the first 50 years. I now live in Moncton NB (don't ask) but am well familiar with the flatlands of which you speak.

I own a stock midnight blue 08 ZX-14 (with 9K KM). It even had the original tires when I bought it. I have owned enough bikes over the decades that I know what I want to do to it and help is only a message away on this forum.

Moncton is a great place, you have a nice bike, I have put only 500k on bike and have some conclusions:
Handles much better than it's size would suggest...pretty decent build quality...nice smooth enjoyable power...people like it/or don't like it on the drive by...and it is a bit of a swine on fuel as a daily driver!
What do you do in Moncton?

Hi denn, I do IT work for the government. Close to retirement. I liked the New England area (great roads) since the 80's and ride the area every chance I get. Just finished a 3 day 2K trip to Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. The Maritimes have great roads as well, only bumpier...

Hello guys...another Canuck. Lived in Alberta for a few years, then the Nwt, BC and now Newfoundland. Taking receipt of a used Zx14 tomorrow. Traded a guy for my C14. Looking forward to the 14. If it's half as good as my Blackbird it'll be great.

Had two Blackbirds...put about 45k miles on each...then got my 2006 ZX14 and after about a week, my buddy asked me what I missed about the Honda...the answer was "not a thing". ZX14 is a lot like the Blackbird...just better in every single way. Sold my '06 ZX14 two years ago and picked up a 2013 ZX14R , more of the same...welcome!

2013 ZX14R ABS, Red, Scorpion Serket Carbon slip ons, centerstand, Rizoma Mirrors, MRA DoubleBubble, Gen-Mar risers, Buell pegs, ThrottleMeister, GIVI V35, Corbin saddle, backrest and glovebox, Power Bronze Hugger, Radiator Guard...so far...
