And if / when you get here we'll get Bean and show you some Australian hospitality.

I dunno, Hagrid. That's a tough call... Take your cycle and Bean buys the rounds, or ... Take the offered bike, and you buy the rounds. Knowing what kind of drinking fish those guys are (I lived in Melbourne for many months), I think you'd better take *your* bike and let *them* buy!

I am 6'3" and ride with a Shoei X-12 helmet and the results are great. Never had a screen so quiet and stable on the head at speed. I am talking tucked in at speeds up to 300km/h. Past that I can't say.

Yannih:

What's it like when you're not "tucked in"? Where does the air stream hit you? ...and, in your opinion, is it still quiet for you?

I'm asking because "tucked in" is not where I do most of my riding.

x2 I wanna be able to do 120 ... OK maybe 150 ... in my normal upright riding position, without my helmet being blown around so bad I can't focus on what's ahead. Only on closed course circuits, of course

Not to worry, Meb. I'll bring the Ninjee AND buy the Fosters.

I'm on their dirt... it's only right.

Sorry guys.
Been a bit busy of late.

My normal riding position is fairly low even though I am 6'3".
That combined with the upturned spoiler shape of the screen redirecting air upwards means I actually don't feel too much air flow hitting me anywhere at any speed
That added with the sability of air behind the screen due to the cutout holes is why I love this upgrade so much.
But nothing is perfect.
I have noticed that at substantial speed where I am tucked in very low, the upturned section of the screen is in my eyesight line and does distort the view forward somewhat.

Apart from that, outstanding...

And you are a good man Hagrid but make mine a VB thanks.
We only export Fosters as no one here will drink that rubbish...

No screen yet. It's DHL, apparently on a slow boat...

I am using the MRA touring screen. Picked it up used off of fleabay. Like it better than the ZG double bubble I had on there.

I'm using the Zero Gravity Screen. I keep thinking I need something wider. Lots of wind blowing Bugs on my jacket.
I did some experimenting with the stock Kawa screen. Laminarlip.com installs its screen with 3M Dual Lock 400 stems per inch Velcro. I could only find locally at Lowe's 3M's 250 stems/". I used 4 pieces and installed the stock screen on top of the Zero Gravity. It works well. With 3M's Velcro I can separate the 2 screens and if I want to remove the Velcro it leaves no residue.
I rode to 80 mph and it did not fly off. Just use it for traveling. I can still see over the top.
The stock screen is just sitting in a box collecting dust.

I'm gonna be honest here, but you're not gonna like it...

That the ugliest setup I've ever seen. I know you've saved some coin, and I'm the cheapest guy I know. But where's your sense of style, man?

You would risk your neck (literally) to run that abomination?

Experimenting is my thing.

I've headed off in a different direction.

I just placed an order for the MRA touring windscreen.

I like the way it fits the bike.

Hoping I will be happy with the purchase

Man that last ZX10 of doubleD's has all the right angles and curves, IMO. I remember thinking that bike was tits back then, and still do ... a good sign of design.

mebgardner ?? ... a whole month gone now! No delivery in from Germany yet??

For my own records ... once mebgardner has indeed received, installed and tested his new screen, and returned here to rave about it ... here are links to the MRA "T" on eBay in:

So, I've used the MRA touring screen for about a month now (I was off the cycle due to a broken collar bone, subsequent surgery, and healing), and I'm ready to weigh in.

My .02: don't bother. The OEM screen is fine, there's no additional benefit worth this price.

I tried the touring screen, and did not get much of the air stream off my helmet. I did get some small additional wind off my chest, but not my helmet.

So, I bought and installed that X-screen thing. Another buck 'n a half for that silly thing. I played with that trying to get air off my helmet.

When it's fully angled toward me, it lifts air right into my helmet underneath, just what I wanted to avoid. When it's fully angled upright, it puts the airstream front 'n center on my face shield.

This was all a waste of time and money, for me.

I'm 6 ft, 0 in., I have a basically stock OEM seating position (lowered the pegs an inch). It's not like I'm super tall, hanging out in the wind.

So, your mileage may vary, but I wish I had my cash back.

I'm gonna live with it until I decide what my next ride is.

meb - Thanks a bunch for the report, and I'm sorry you wasted your $. I'm also 6'-0", so should be about the same results. Did you get the bolt-on or clamp-on X-creen? Do you want to sell it?

Don't remember if I mentioned it, but I currently have the Puig Racing Screen (see below) which is a little taller, and I installed 1" Helibar risers off eBay for $69, and the bike seems more comfortable to me, and I'm 'pretty sure' the wind is hitting me a little higher on the helmet. BUT, I must add that I've ridden only a few hundred miles since getting this setup. I have a 1,200-mile VA>NC>GA>FL trip scheduled for Sept 4th, so can report back after that.
