need help
02/18/11 3:17 PM

So i have a 2010 zx-14. I just had a PCV, a full yoshi R-77 system 4 to 1, and flies removed. The bike was great for the first 200 miles or so, now after the first few miles it will not go faster than 45 mph, it takes me thro fourth gear to get that fast. It seems to studder through the gears and high revs by itself

First suspect would be the PC. Have you checked it out? grounded good and not loose, map file not corrupted or lost, TPS settings?

Thats where I would look first

I have heard of a few owners having trouble with the DJ recommended ground on the coolant reservoir. It gets loose because the reservoir bottle mount is plastic and will not hold the ground firmly. If you tighten too much, the bottle mount will crack in time. As heathun recommends, I'd check that ground first. If that is the problem then I would consider relocating the ground if it is under the bottle mount.

This is where I have my PC grounded (thumb points to the screw on the frame) and I know at least one other member does as well. No problems at all. As an extra measure, we both filed the paint off the bump around the threaded hole. Prolly not necessary to do that since the threads are bare metal but better safe than sorry.

If the ground wire cannot reach there, I have heard of the bottle mount locatoin being modified with a low profile hex nut to tighten the ground and then the bottle mount placed over that with the OEM nut snugged up on top of the whole thing.

If it is not a grounding problem, which is common, it might be a TPS setting problem. Maybe it glitched and got WOT wrong.

Also, why did you pull flies on a 2010? Since 2008, that makes almost no sense.

Thanks all for the help, I went by the shop that did all my work and found out it was the clucth plates. I had installed ASV levers and the clucth lever keep pressure on the plates. I had no idea. But thanks for the input

Say, I have a toilet and it's kind of flowing air. What do you think it might be?

I don't know? Did you check to see if the plunger is sticking or wrinkled?

Yeah man, it's good. Looks brand new in fact.

I don't know? This is the internet and you might want to check your water meter.

Meter? I lost my house a few years ago. I just got this toilet for a real good deal and now I wanna know why it doesn't work? It's still in the box. I just can't get to the lever to flush it was the problem.

Sheesh...NOW it's clear as a bell!....."high revs by itself"....NO....only when you are applying throttle, and it's SLIPPING the clutch.Sheesh!Hell..mine did exactly what yours did...with the same outcome...lousy fitting levers(your clutch is fine).

that's what I figured. After ten years of riding my last bike and being on those forums I've got tons as well. But I wonder if I could be considered a cyber pack rat if I can't get rid of them? I'll never need them again. I dunno? :)

I hear ya'll about the albums. Hard drives are just too cheap to worry about whether you should delete stuff. Hell, you can get a Seagate 2TB (that's 2 TERABYTES) for $79 bucks from newegg.com.

Buck/Edge,

On the contrary, you guys are my hero's. You need to kick me in the butt first thing out the mouth is, 'trick levers?' and then the next trick is a bad ground on the piggy unit.

Other than learning from blue and his advancer code... She is still one bullepoof goes the aftermarket on and poof comes/goes the troubles/problems solved.

Same deal, someone is ragging on a set of forks and he now read where I began bad mouthing the rider he points at a well designed part that gets better as the years go by. And to add insult to injury, he now states he owns a CCclub racing license.

So, imagine what he is reading just about now LOL. Oh, his riding ability is now in question we begin to point to a fork and his pogo-sticking can't hang on kind of slip it under my ass we find your favorite road I could hair brain less let's go for an internet lap.

Wear out is Rook and his levers? I missed this thread for what, 4 days? I've been clubbubbing the CC's in his forking front end dive...

The guy put me on iggy like he said he would as I assumed he would. If you're bored waiting to see what might happen next... Usually, I ignore the trivial remarks, but today I was in a frisky mood. Could be cause I haven't been on the bike like I've been riding lately.

Maybe it's cabin fever.

Maybe it IS cabin fever, I can feel it.

But they have a point Hub. Only one, but valid. Most of the time I have no clue what you are saying, or even if it is relevant.

Which is just fine. Heh.

Tonight, he old lady comes in the room to get a salsa can open. I pop it open and say, dolly it up. She say, what? Doll it up, add some heat. And she's been with me for a long time and I still have to explain things so you are not the only one. She doesn't know how to use that decoder ring and there are a lot hanging out here like they all work too. LOL

BTW, Loaded, thanks to you I'm the proud owner of a new 2T EHD. Since I won't be buying an exhaust this year, I picked up a netbook for the wifey too- brownie points for when I do, hehe.
