Getting ready..
12/30/16 8:15 PM

Added a shifter and redid my race seat.. First race in two days weather permitting ..Anxious to use the shifter at the strip..Couldnt play too much today cause I had on my textile suit and stock seat. Impossible to keep my 130+ pounds in place while accelerating...this is going to help a lot with that

and I hope this lil button helps my consistencee {sp)problem..

as it is connected to this.....

which pulls on this......

Couple of adjustments to make ( cable on inside next to motor for one) but we just ran out of time..The rest will just be cosmetic/neatness.

LIKE the nitrous setup, chrly. I'm having trouble deciding which side to put the button on. First thought the left would be best like you have it...then heard of a guy who uses the starter button as the spray button (activates the solenoid only when NOS is armed). So now I'm thinking, if I have to let the button go between shifts and I am also closing the throttle between shifts....maybe the hand that turns the throttle should also be the hand that presses the button? What do you think?

I am not running nitrous and only ran it a very long time ago (1977) so I am not the guy to answer those questions for you...

OH I see...that is an electric shifter. LH side for that button definitely seems best to me. One more reason to go with RH for a NOS button.

But when you're on the NOS your only on the throttle, right?

I have zero experience here so only my worthless opinion, but it seems to me to have the clutch/shift button on the left with a new NOS switch is the correct setup so the right hand only has throttle and F brake to work

That's what I was thinking too, rudy. ...unless you want to use the clutch which i will be doing, at least initially. Seems like it would be harder to get back on the button if I used the clutch hand to press the button, especially with HD springs. IDK what would be easiest and safest. Maybe a lever on the throttle grip that presses the button at WOT. What would be perfect would be some kind of device that only allowed the solenoid to open within a preset rpm window and close during a shift. Then you just hold your finger on the button the whole time and let the electronics take care of it.
