Finally got down to the drag strip yesterday on the 14 for the first time.

Wild Horse Pass, Phoenix, AZ was in the 70's and sunny.

Was not trying for any sort of personal best, etc. just wanted to get a maiden trip
down and make a couple of runs.

Wanted to take it easy and I'd be happy running anywhere in the 10's

Just pulled the mirrors in, lowered rear PSI to 28 and
a short 3-4 second burn out.

Only got a few runs in, was pretty busy. But I got just what I wanted a few
calm totally uneventful runs. Stuck like glue and kept the front end down.

1.9 60'

yep, nothing special, but got that first trip down and a base to start working on.

I have been told many times over, that seat time is the most important factor so congrats on a successful beginning to the year !!

Congrats man! Thats a good start! A little FYI though, Don't just drop your tire pressure down unless you are spinning. Every lb makes a difference. I never had to drop mine below 30psi when I was swb. You want as much air in both tires as you can get away with.

What tire were running with that pressure ? I have a Shinko Hook up . I have been all over the place with tire pressures..Still looking for the "right" one ..

That's kind of why I put the 28psi in the post to see if anyone had suggestions.

I used to go a few times a year in the evenings with my zzr1200 and that bike would
spin like I was on ice unless I dropped to 24-26psi. So thought 28psi might be a good place to start
with the 14. This was during the day and it stuck like glue which really surprised me.

I'll start at 30psi next time, I upped the front to 44psi. On the street I run 36/34f and 34/32r

I'm guessing Chrly was asking bg about his tires but I'm running Metzeler Sportec M5 Interact - "E"

Nice numbers. Great information on this thread--I think I'm going to increase the air pressure in my rear tire the next time I go to the track. I'm at about 18 psi so I think I'll add about 10 pounds and then only lower it if I'm spinning. I'm still new to drag-racing also. I've been to the drag-strip about 5 or 6 times now but each time, I have a blast.
