New Helmet
03/09/10 2:53 PM

This is my new Vemar Carbon- Haven't had a chance yet to ride with it-but fit is EXCELLENT-Quality-#1.Definitely a keeper and it IS lighter(2.4 lbs) than my Arai Profile(3 something).(virtually the same in outside shell width and height as well). No side pods to mess with, looks to be a lot easier to replace windscreens on-came with a spare tinted screen as well.Screen flips ALL THE WAY back-makes for easier polishing of the whole inside of the visor. Price-okay-originally listed at $1000.00.Bought at Superstore-$499.00.3 day shipping. No charge.I bought the last one they had.

"Go good with a black bike"---you funny.I tried to weigh it-looked like actually 2 lbs and something(around .4).Hey ROME-I got my battery today. You said you were worried about the slow(er)starting cranks.Mine-well,before I've installed it(not yet)...I'm charging it up as we speak. It was VERY LOW-how much?I can't say-but virtually ZERO as far as I can tell-she's been charging now for 5 hours, and is still only at 80%.By tomorrow AM should be good to go.It is a very nice unit I must say. When I get er hooked up(gonna use foam seat material(old trashed zx14 seat) to fashion a little tray for it),I'll give er a good run-then throw my tender on it when I get home-see how much she needs charging again.Hope yours is doing okay.

I will admit I was alittle worried. I did not check to see if the battery was dead. Sounds like yours was in the same condition. I need more of these batteries. If it starts dubious high hose power bikes then it will def start mine. Blue could you please post this over in the other(Tiny)Thread so he can tell the manufacturer. This info helps us all . Maybe the company just ships the battery with out a charge? I did not read that part and I was in a hurry to finish the job. Thanks Buddy. Cheers

I don't really know anything about these battery's properties.Duboius said they were a "different animal".Ya-I'll go with that.I may have mistakenly thought I read they don't need a charge?However-the "one time" top off is probably the way to begin the battery's life cycle?I know on some of the rechargeable batteries,if you don't initially charge em all the way up before putting a load on em,they NEVER perform at peak level.Don't know about these ones, but I wasn't gonna risk that maybe happening.Haven't ridden her yet-will most likely tomorrow. We'll see how she does-charge wise.Haven't started her yet either.I want to see if she's gonna crank after sitting fully charged over a few days.Should be okay. She took a full charge just fine.As long as it "gets stronger" the more times it's used to start the engine,I'm okay with that(the warming up thing). In summer it should perform flawlessly-the cold weather action of the battery is not something to worry about IMO.

"New Helmet" Review here.Okay-temps-45 degrees out. This helmet has surpassed everything I wanted in a quality lid. This thing virtually blocks ALL wind from coming in from underneath the neck area.NO wind in my face at all.Definitely feels much lighter than my Arai Profile.Sound?I'm gonna say "a little less" than the Arai-which in this case is GOOD.Fit-feels like it's molded on.Aerodynamics-superb.Smooth as glass at speed-NO BUFFETING.And I was hittin over a hundred a few bursts. It seemed to actually get quieter the faster I was going,as well as smoother in the airflow.Headchecks-felt smooth, stable and LIGHT while turning my head at speed.I'm giving this helmet TOP MARKS in EVERY category.Way worth the money.I won't be wearing my Arai anymore-that's for sure. And it's a very nice helmet. The Vemar vents work very well.Chin curtain-actually WORKS on this helmet. No wind from front chin area.Same as the back of the helmet-no wind coming in there either. The visor-SWEET.Fully adjustable from open to closed-and it seals out the wind excellently.Changing the visor is WAY simpler than my Arai.No hassle at all-two allens and it comes right off,and back in place just as easy.I'm very happy with this helmet-VERY!If you guys can get one-you should.Best I've ever worn-that's for sure.

Before your criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and have their shoes.

Ha Ha, I just replyed to you other thread about this lid.

I'v had my VSRC for 3 years and don't think I'll ever own anything else. Problem is I don't think you can get it in CF anymore but you can still get them painted

PS they make a quick relese for the visor like Shoie has on their lids. I bought the limited edition VSRC and it came with them but you can buy the hardware from a dealer

How's the GoPro work for ya on the helmet?I mount mine either on the left fairing just below the turn signal,or right in the ram duct with some velcro(with no case).I've got the wide angle one-non HD.Takes really good vids!

It works great. I haven't done any "speed tests" with it yet but at 70-80mph you can't tell its there. Put the sticky mount toward the back and not dead center and you'll get the cool helmet/see where I'm looking shots. When you aim it for up & down aim higher then what you think would be a good line of sight other wise all you'll see is your front tire.
