Friday nights results
08/23/09 8:42 AM

Well guys I went Friday night to Thunder Valley and as you know anything faster than 120mph requires leathers. So I bought some and some new riding boots. I really believe it hurt my times because that stuff is new and so tight to wear. So my first pass off the trailer was 10.89 @ 134. I couldn't get the bike to shift with those stupid boots on. I hit the rev limiter in every gear. Then I raced a strected Busa :)he 60ft me but I drove around him on the big end! I ran a 10.46 @ 140 that pass. I made several passes trying to learn how to ride again in all that protective gear. So my best pass was 10.30 @ 141 with a 1.76 60ft but I hit the rev limiter in 3rd and finally got it into 4th gear. I felt that pass was gonna go deep in the 10's but my sorry ass riding killed that. I have got to get it stretched! The front tire stayed up all night long!! :(

10.30@141 So far :(

Being new to the track and with new gear, sounds like you did great!!!! And if you had fun you'll keep going getting better every time. Pick up an electric, or better still an air shifter.

I don't have one but I know I have read from others you can still shift by foot. Some with electric shifters have said they get to the point they stop foot shifting even on the street.

Yes sir you can ride all day long with an airshifter on the bike. won't hurt it a bit.

Those are pretty nice times! Just curious, what color was the busa you raced?

Those 60's are pretty good for a stock wheelbase bike. I've known some guys on stretched bikes that could only cut 1.60's

Keep it up, we'll have to meet up out there one weekend. (i'm 100% going to be out there september 11th). Most of the time, i go out on saturday nights.. but those are kinda secretive heh heh heh

I took a wasted trip to the local track this past wednesday night. A single rain cloud washed the place down 20 min' before I got there. Then I hung out for 2 hours as the staff was drying the track off. They started running street cars but the shutdown area was damp. I wasn't comfortable running the bike in those conditions so I got a rain check and went home.

I hadn't been to the friggin' track in 4 months & I hadn't ridden the bike in almost 7 weeks. What a waste.
