So if this rumor is close I would expect a 1L SC lump in ?? The Connie, the Z1000? They have the reliability issues worked out in the 1L motor, I don't think they would dump capital and research into a new motor for the sport touring, or would they?
My employer just sent around a new benefits package with employee discounts for BMW so I played with the R1200GS build a adventure bike feature. Low and behold for only $33K (before tax and license) I can order one. What are these people thinking? (rhetorical blurp) New BMW bikes are way to much fricking $$$.
So if KHI produces a SC 1L sport Turing bike for ~$13K that would be great. The big Long Beach show is mid-Nov so maybe they will have examples there to view.

If they supercharge another bike and it's not the ZX-14, I think they are making bad business decisions on purpose. Can you honestly tell me a lot more people would buy a supercharged sport touring bike than a supercharged ZX-14R?
Yeah, I hear the under 40 crowd no longer has money to buy ANY kind of new bike and it's now the aging gen Xers who are the market. Maybe the whole rest of the world is getting old and I'm staying young but a supercharged high performance bike is a whole lot more enticing to me than a supercharged -ehhh- bike.

We already saw pics of the black and gray 2018 ZX14R, and I don't think there was mention of a supercharger ... seems like just Bold New Graphics. This is copied/pasted from a guy on the Concours forums ... Dunno if he really knows, but he's kinda convincing, although he didn't offer up his source at all:
The cats out of the bag ....its a H2SX which is basically a Z1000SX type bike witha Supercharger making a stated 200 bhp. Plus a a TFT dash,, sat nav functionality, electric screen, heated grips, media connectivity and keyless ignition.
Z1000 SX and Versys will remain. GTR will go as it doesn't meet Euro 4 regulations
The H2SX will cost 20K base and approx 23K fully loaded
It looks nice and seems to have chain drive

Well at least it doesn't have the duel pumpkin chucker's. But would you but a touring bike, SC or not, with a chain? Don't think I would. This may just stop ZX14 drivers from working hard and spending $$$$ to turn their bikes into a Connie.
Nice looking bike!

LOL I don't get this. If that's your bike, I mean, if the bottom one is what you'll be trading for, why do you have a zx14 anyway?
Probably more comfortable riding position, possibly cruise control, integrated side cases and probably a few other things to like. I'll have to learn more and see it in person.
In reality, I don't actually see me trading, but this is the only bike I've seen since buying mine that seems even remotely possible to replacing mine. Would be very hard to ever give the big ol' 1,441 freight train though.

I agree with Sterons. Notice the now discontinued disc pattern. Then scroll up to the others and you'll see full discs, no cutouts to lighten the discs. Also, no trellis frame but the cast frame w/SC bogus looking top cover.

[quote]SO you are saying the 2019 zx14r is "officially" a sport touring bike? That's fucked up if they do that/quote]
The 14R has ALLWAYS been a sports tourer....Kawasaki Sport Tourer Range
What else would it be?
