RE: Just about 200 MPH Time!

Sorry guys wound up staying later than I wanted so my buddy on his Busa could get a few more runs in to shoot for his goal also......
I have to tell you hitting 200 mph is way harder than I though it would be. I tried last year and missed my goal. So just in case I added the Nitrous system and headed back. On friday I was only able to put down 190 and had to let out of the throttel because I had a huge height speed wobble and thought I might actually lose. I had cut the foam out of a stock seat and used it to lower me by almost 3". It worked real well but when you launch this crazy lady she threw me to the back part of the plastic pan and I had too much of my weight in the rear because at about 185 to 190 the bars were moving left and right like the front end was lifted and in the air.
Well I adjusted my Scott's stabilizer and the pulled my body further forward and bam! I hit 196 just like that! I got back in line and refilled the NOS tanks and tried again and went the same speed. It seemed my 40 rear was the wrong call.... So I had to wait till Saturday for the next run.... I went to a 17/41 combo and chilled the NOS tanks and then filled them to make sure they were crammed full. It was 95 outside with 100% humidity amd the sun was beating on us bad. I covered the tanks with a white towel so they wouldn't get hot and then made my run 199.47!!!! Wtf!!! Lol
I came back and chilled and filled the NOS tanks one more time. I also taped all the front seems and head lights and got my ass back to the line. Finally it was my time... I said a prayer and pulled into the pit box. I got my cue and hit it like I was getting chased by the entire state police department after robbing the dougnut shop. LOL The run felt great and I tucked in with everything I had. I hit the NOS about the half mile and as I screamed through the mile I hit 198..... And I the mile and a half....... I crushed my goal putting down a 203.47 !!!!!!! My what a ride! I now I can say been there done it and got the 200 MPH Hat! lol
Now I'm putting on the 16 front for wheelie time!

I'm changing the fron to a 16 and it's wheelie time for me for a while! I'm going to change the oil, air filter and plugs and just enjoy my lady.....Now I can finally put the 200 MPH sticker on her that I bought way back when I bought her 4 years ago and would never put it on till I did it. that damn sticker cost me about $10,000.00! LOL

CONGRATULATION buddy. I was going to forward you an article about doing 200 MPH... most of it was about aerodynamics but when I saw you were working on the seat, I thought you had it covered. Taping the lights and little creases is a must on the 14. It's not as aerodynamic as a Busa. I'm glad you figured it out! What did you friend run on his Busa?
BTW, Looks like we have the same jacket!
Looks like you made sure to close the vents before you went on your run...lol that jacket could be a chute with all the vents open lol

Thanks guys!!! My buddy puts down 208 at the rear wheel and he was able to get 194 outta her. The front on the Busa is defiantly more aerodynamic than the 14 but I would never want anything but my baby! lol

The 14 is the best looking IMO. ..but I love both my babies....the 14 has gotten a little more love.
The carved out seat looks great, BTW....however, I imagine you will go back to something more comfy for non-race purposes.

So I just took off the nitrous system and put the morriors back on changed the oil and will change the plugs and clean the air filter shortly. I have a new three D chain and a 16 and a 17 with a 41 rear for new gears..... I was thinking the 16 for crazy power but I have three track day next month and not sure if its a good idea. What do you guys think? I guess it would be fine bust rev a little higher. May e the extra would be nice???

Thanks 1400! I just changed the gearing last night to the 16/41 so I'm looking forward to trying that for a while.....I'm thinking I won't have to buy a front tire for a while with this combo! :)

If your feeling lucky you can do it somewhere out in the real world but if you get busted, I figure it will cost more than an LSR membership fee. Yeah, they don't really disclose the fee until you start getting into it but the one I started checking into in Ohio was over a grand. That is for a whole weekend, I think. It's the price 3 to 4 road course track days. Worth it if you want to focus on your sport and not worry about popo.
