Ok I'm the only guy that posts ads and takes a loss. Your right. I had the decency to crop your name out of the image

Romes the elephant in the room for me has always been the competitive nature of hp pursuit and gains. This competitiveness has driven dollars from my wallet.
Wolf your Not Alone. I get the dollars from the wallet. All starts when one decides to take what is arguably the worlds fastest production bike and do the first Mod. Once down that road hook sets Quick. U know what I mean. Path in most cases: Slip-ons, flies out, Full Pipe, Dyno Tune and when and if that gets old and boring Boooossssttt fills all gaps. Fun Factor plus 100.
As far as competitive, well not sure about that word. Steps go more like I saw you with it and it looks like fun, now I want to try it, oooops now I'm hooked. Must get one so I can have that fun too lol Most of us are still just big kids at heart. These bikes in my opinion are Toys for adults, they will Never be anything more.
They Are By No Means A Extension Of Who I Am As A Person.
But here is the sensitive part of the discussion
There will never B any of that for me. That starts I'm gone. Life is just to dame short lol
I'm sorry but the passion some of you guys have for what is a thing I just don't have. Some times I wish I did so I could understand what all the fuss is about.
Not suggesting you ale from the same illness, but as soon as I stopped engine measuring the happier I became.
Exactly, 100% Agree. No one will never enjoy this bike if you are always comparing it to others.
My illness Wolf is I'm a gear Head who loves to play,,,, If it burns Gas I'm all over it. Lol, as a kid I even moded my whipper snipper. Had a 6hp outboard motor that I bored out, pushed around basicaly a 10mm plank that sunk when I stopped. Some popular mechanics build BS,,, Fun though. My hobby takes in almost Every thing that burns fuel. Love it. When I can mod no further I move on to the next new thing. If it's not Fun Dump it.
Anyway guys, off topic. just thought I might clear the Air a bit on the above comments in re guards to "If you really want to destroy a zx14 motor and do it right quick, then please add a turbo kit now!!!
It's not like that,,, but yes it could be at the same time. turbos don't blow bikes up, people do. Once you ride one or ride with some one who has one, don't be surprised if you get hooked. It happened to me lol

I hear that Romes. I never disrespect a man and his pursuit of the path. Life is short. Ride hard, and enjoy what you have. I haven't caught the turbo bug. I've lusted after a 9r. Bought one. Enjoyed. I've also lusted after a 12r. That's the next project. I like you have a passion and a path. To this I can relate. These bikes were unobtainable in my youth. And now that they can be had for a few bucks. I'm hooked.
It's nice to know a man can assert his opinion and feel like a group of folks hear him. Yes I am passionate, however not opinionated.

Back to bearing failure, in my very humble opinion, keep the oil level to the top line after warm up,
use a quality synthetic oil (I'm using motul 7100 at the moment, just my preference, going to
Motul 300V next to see if there is a difference) if price is an issue, Rotella T6 will do fine,
use a good oil filter, at least the OEM, but others are said to be even better (purolater pure one)
change oil often, don't redline it every time you go out LOL !
haven't spun a bearing in over 35 years of riding, hopefully never will !
just my 2 cents !

Geez... This got interesting quick... Romes I will be the first to admit that I would LOVE to own a turbo 14R. If you EVER feel the pull of a turbocharged engine you will NEVER forget the sensation. I'm fast on a NA bike and I promise I would be DEVASTATING on a turbo bike. Keep in mind that I would keep it stock wheelbase of course. I love getting questions like... How do you ride it like that so short? My response? I hold up my left hand and point to it.

Lol, my riding buddy has a zx14 Turbo, Zx10 Turbo ZX12 Turbo. All Stock wheel base. He views extenions Not as safety (as I do) his view is it's cheating. I ask him that very question every time we go out. How ???
The ZX12 is running over 23lbs of boost on a built low compression motor. Turbo is massive, Very slow to spool,,, but when it does I get F..k out of the way,,, absolutely insane,,,, Keep waiting for him to flip, but he never does.
You stock legth guys have my respect. What you guys do with a clutch is pure magic, anyone who does not think so I invite them to try it,,,, And lets face it, you are all Mad Men at the same time lol
Once again, it's all about the fun. As for my buddy Steve, he can keep that kind of 400 plus hp hitt,, Scares shit from me to watch. Not for every one.

What is keeping you from going back ? Very hard once hooked to get off the line I have tried. My 14 R sat in the garage for a year and I never rode it, the 2010 with boost was to dame much fun to ignore so she got all the attention. You have done what I could not.
