Yet another Noob
08/25/09 9:27 AM

I have been riding bikes for a while, and just never purchased my own due to my wife leaving me and sticking me with all our debt. All my friends have bikes and I finaly broke down and bought one. Of course needs to be the biggest baddest thing I can find......ZX-14.

And like everyone says, you have to respect the power. Two days after buying mine, I was zoomin down a road to show off, but went to stop and it was all slippery concrete. Couldnt slow down and managed to clip a fire hydrent and put the bolt that sticks out through my fairing first, then into my leg. Thirteen stitches later, I still walk, but havnt been able to bend leg yet to point of shifting. I ride it in second gear and stiff legged.

I have to do a lot of research on this bad boy, As I have no manual for it, and my first personaly owned bike. I also have to find a left fairing and the black peice that goes behind it...lol

Ouch! Sounds like maybe you need to take it a bit slower for a while...

You might check eBay for fairing pieces. Search for "ZX14 fairing".

have rode many different bikes from a 1980something 1000cc, to the r1, to the busa. This was just the first I purchased myself. Like you said, the beast bit me. My own fault for not leaving ample room to slow down. This hasnt stopped me from riding at all. Even with leg in imobleizer, just put it in second and cruzed town...lol

Ouch, heal up, I am still riding in spite of previous injury pains. My grin makes up for the pain!
