Installed a few comfort mods last week:

Puig darksmoke DB windscreen
GenMar risers
Buell pegs
Grip Puppies

She will get her first oil change this weekend. So far very happy with the new addition.

Lookin' sharp! Did you have to run new cable for the genmars to work? Where did you get the buell pegs from? Thinking that'll be my next mod.

I didn't have to reroute the cables for the risers.

I got the pegs from EBay. Buell Pegs part number N0006.1AD

Fuzz4141 - The Connie seat is great. Way more comfortable than the stock seat.

I am liking the GenMar risers as well. The 1" rise really helps.

I took Blue07 advice and stacked the Genmar and Heli-bar risers. Awesome. Almost 2 inches up. Connie seat and corbin peg lowering. No cable changes needed. I did have to bend the brake resevour mount just a tad to clear the fairing. Sweet!

Lookin good zoldar, I am following in your footsteps hehe

Are these the ones? $37- shipped sound good? I'm going to look around some more too... but that seems like a legit seller. I like the stock pegs but these are a cheap alternative, worth giving it a shot!

Did you guys have to adjust the shifter / brake levers? I would imagine so, just curious on others experience.

I would like to try out the double stacked risers (Genmar/Heli) as well, can anybody (slidderhd / Blue07) post some pic's of them double stacked and with the bars turned etc?

The bike looks great!
How much is a new Connie seat? Will the cowl still fit? I assume the foam is softer? Same seat height?
Sorry for all the questions but I'm about to try Sargents for reshaping my seat unless this is a better choice.
Thanks for any help.

I got a like new Connie seat shipped for $150 from a user on one of the Concours forums... brand new they are around $400 I believe.

The cowl will not fit on the C14 seat, but if you modify the shape it will. Blue07 posted a how to on this on one of the older forums that you can find if you google it.

My C14 seat is "out for delivery" right now... can't wait to get it installed tonight and take her out!

I'll try to get pics of the double stack of risers soon.

As far as the brake and clutch levers go, due to my height, I had already turned them downward and had to file off a little of the fork brace to allow for clearance on the clutch side.

Thanks slidderhd, I am 6' 2" and really only holding off on the gen-mar + heli combo because I haven't actually seen any pic's of this actually installed. Not that I don't believe you guys, I just want to see what I'm getting into is all. I think I may go for the Buell peg's next until I have more details on the riser combo setup. I still have the OEM windscreen, but am most likely going to install the MRA Touring in a few weeks. Did you stack the risers with the OEM screen?

I got one of my grip puppies installed tonight, but when I put the second one on the throttle side I forgot to cut it first... so I slipped it off luckily before it got stuck on there. Unfortunately when I went back to put it on the next time I had some serious trouble sliding it on. It seems that I may have gotten a little too liberal with the warm water, and it got underneath the stock rubber grip which caused it to slide itself. I was determined to install them without using any type of soap, and the first time I slid it on there pretty easily. Someone recommended soaking the grip puppies for a few minutes in some hot water, and that seemed to work very well.

When I started to work the grip puppy on there about 1/2 way in it would start to catch on the rubber grip and start to pinch it off. I am going to wait until tomorrow night and try again once that dries, so tomorrow I ride with one grip puppy installed hehe

Did you guys peel off that extra foam at the rear of the C14 seat?

1. I did stack the two risers with the OEM windscreen. No issues.

2. I left the foam on the Connie seat. Didn't see any reason to take off.

i ended up pulling off the very rear part of the foam, it wasn't allowing the seat to fit as flat and tight as I wanted, and with it removed it looks and fits better IMO. Before I pulled it off I could see the foam between the seat and the body panel kinda sticking out and it just didn't look right. Now you can't even see any foam, but I suppose its just personal taste really. I also bent the metal tab ever so slightly and the thing fits perfectly and locks in tight.

I've got a few hundred miles on my new C14 seat and its breaking in quick, I am very happy with the change. I used a little electrical tape to help the other grip puppies slide over the throttle grip and then just pulled the tape off after, worked great. I can't believe how much better my hands feel with this $10 set of foam covers lol

I know this is a bit of a hijack of the thread but it does deal with comfort modifications so please forgive the question.

Could anyone comment on a comparison between the stock seat and the Concourse swap over from a PASSENGER's point of view? I find the stock seat fine but as I take my better half with me on 90%+ of my rides I want/need to consider her comfort on the ride as well. Stock seat for her is good for about 100miles after that she is butt sore. Anyone out there who could offer opinions from their passenger after the swap?

Next option to consider is a Corbin and lady seat with a backrest but they are PRI$$EY to say the least. If I have to go that route I will but maybe a Concourse seat swap will work just fine.

ANY/all comments will be Much Appreciated.

Thank you for the help.

All my passengers love it. The ones who have ridden on the stock seat or other bikes seats (sport bikes) comment on how great the extra padding is and how the shape keeps them in place during acceleration and braking. I have no information on distance rides from a passenger point of view because I usually ride alone on longer trips.
