Hello everyone. I rode my new blue ZX14R home from the dealer this evening. I haven't been able to think about much else for the last few months, and now it's here. I have a ZRX, a fine bike, but this ZX14 is awesome.
I can't wait to put some more miles on this weekend. I would like to thank many of you, I have learned alot about this bike by reading the information you've posted here.

I guess your signiture means you had a 1974 Z-1.I had a 75 Z-1B.It was my first streetbike at 19 years old
.I learned a lesson about riding a bike too fast for my skill level.Welcome.This bike scares even me at 57 sometimes.

Audioboyz, yea I had a Z1, my first big street bike when I was 22. Many great memories of that bike. My previous experience was a Yamaha 175, so the speed and power of the Z1 were unbelievable. My sole transportation all through grad school.
Later, when I had a decent car and a 83 Suzuki GS1100, I learned that even "fast" cars were boring compared to a good bike.
Now, I'm back to being car-less, but have a fun, gorgeous bike (and it's a Kawasaki!)!

Thanks for the welcome Kofla, Snuffy, and Zx14man64.
Finally went past 600 miles, plan to schedule the first service this week. Bike is fantastic. Have mostly kept it under 4000 rpm, with a few blasts to 5 or 6000. Can't wait to let more of the power loose. Put some middle grade 89 octane gas in, heard it pinging, so ONLY premium from then on.
Longest ride so far about 120 miles. Need to work on core strength, to keep weight off hands. Will be trying some grip puppies to see if they will help too (I think the diameter of the stock grips might be a bit too small). Thinking about tank pads too.
I hope to see some of you guys sometime in the future, several of you not so far away in PA.
