I left a light the other day like it was my own personal drag strip and did not see a cop that was sitting behind a lifted truck and some cars. so after hitting redline in 4th I switch up to 6th and started coasting I look in my mirror and there is a car pulling away from the pack of cars I just left in my dust and it was lit up like a Christmas tree! my heart sank and all I thought was this is it me and my bike are off to jail so I man up and pull over and put my keys on the seat and walked away from the bike and did the whole license/registration thing and then the officer said “I’m not going to give you a ticket because I don’t know how fast you were going but it was well over 70mph SLOW DOWN” the speed limit is 45mph there!

I have been there, and done that. The thing is, when it happens, you really feel so stupid for doing something like that. I once got issued a ticket (about 28 years ago), while pulling off from a stop sign and lighting the tires on my 73 plymouth road runner. I didn't even see the policeman in the yard of the house on the corner. He couldn't clock me, and I didn't cross the center line, so instead he issued me a ticket for "excessive noise due to the spinning of tires".

yes, i've heard a couple intimations about some activities that might be considered, shall we say, ....unscrupulous!!? ...illicit .... contraband, perhaps?

same thng happened to me before I dropped over my busa....'twas the last ride before that fateful event.

A couple cops raced up behind me spinning bubbles. I pulled over and they sped past. Saw them parked on the side of the expressway a quarter mile ahead. Some cop with a dog running around sniffing for something. I suppose a drug dealer was being chased and threw a bag of smack out the window.

it does my heart well to know that cops are going after real criminals sometimes.

WOW Rook! Almost the exact same thing happend to me tonight. My truck is in the shop so I rode to the gym tonight. Wasn't paying attention. Just enjoying the ride. Next thing I knew i saw ligths in my mirrors. I pulled over and he went right past me. A mile or so down the road and around a bend. I saw his car and another car with a van pulled over. They had the dog going through the van and two cops were looking around the side of the road for something.
