I feel like I'm stealing someone else's thunder-got this idea from Romans here on the forum-he turned me on to these. These are XENTECH HID high beam, low beam systems. Two h11's,two h9's. Bought off E-Bay from "hid4u".Total of four ballasts, four bulbs. Two complete units shipped in a box-(two ballasts, two bulbs)and the wiring plug and play harnesses-$29.00 plus another $29.00 shipping.Total price for ALL lamps and ballasts with shipping-$119.00.Two types of ballasts-Slimline,and standard. You must tell them you want Slimline at time of ordering.Even then, you MAY receive the standard ballasts(which are twice as big(see pics on the "hid"topic in this forum). But even so,they will fit quite nicely into the midfairing at the turnsignal pockets,as well as along the ram duct area inside the fairing there.Very easy to install.Just need to get your ground leads correctly set up(which is easy to do-it'll either work one way,or not.Full instructions inside.I'm very happy with mine.However-I have to be honest here-there were some issues with one of the lamps on the low beam NOT coming on with the rest at startup.Bumping the starter after she was running solved it-FOR A BIT.Then that one lamp flickered and wouldn't stay on.Don't know if it was the ballast,or the bulb. I ordered(what I thought) was ONE unit after that-to replace it-what I got back was TWO NEW units, and those were SLIMLINES(which was right,I had just forgotten there were TWO units to a box).So I replaced the low beams with the Slimline units, and used the new bulbs. They are working just fine-that's been a few weeks now.Bulbs are 6000K,35w.You MUST specify TWO H11's,and TWO H9's.Even though they're advertised as ZX14 kits-I would make sure you mention that they ARE for a zx14 Motorcycle-just to be on the safe side(they have a little"leave seller a message"window you fill in as you're ordering)........someone asked about the startup action with these. There is NO lag time when switching on the highbeams. The bulbs are instantly lit upon switching "on".Only at STARTUP will there be a momentary "less brilliant" effect.I always have my high beams on at startup, and the "brilliance" is there within a few milliseconds. When switching while riding, there is NO delay in brightness.I do think you COULD order with a 55w bulb if you wanted from these guys. They had a list of available bulb wattages and luminosities....................Okay-so when someone flashes their Brights at you DURING THE DAY,you KNOW these are doing what you intended them to do!!!!Ride safe!!!!.....These things are definitely bright...so when they see em,they instinctively look away, which is where they're gonna steer.Very cool IMO.Way good safety mod.I don't ride at night, but if I did,I wouldn't be usin the brites with oncoming traffic-that's for sure!
