Top Speed in each gear
05/18/12 10:02 PM

Still have a week to wait to take delivery on the blue 14r. Just wondering, about what is the top speed/shift point on each gear on the stock bike?

This is all off the top of my head 1-65 2-100 3-130 4-160 5-175 6-186 with about 500-1000 rpm left.
Not 100% accurate but remotely close.

I believe first gear near redline is closer to 80-ish. Haven't redlined it past first, as I ride all street. Just did a bit of launching a couple times to see how this thing pulls.

My CBR is good for about 80 in first, 110 in second, and 135ish in third. Can't say exactly because it's a bit of a blur. I think I read a while back that the ZX-10 is good for 100 in first. Perhaps the liter sportbikes are geared taller to compensate for their light weight and short wheelbases. With my limited skills, I couldn't really use all the power in 1st gear - a lot of cautious throttle modulation required . With the longer wheelbase and traction control, I'm really looking forward to enjoying the ability to get more power to the pavement at lower speeds

This is from a stock 2006 ZX-14 but it will give you an idea of how fast the gears are!!!

"HOLD MY BEER!"

FIXT.
