Advice: foot peg removal/T-Rex Rear Slider Install
07/03/15 9:03 PM

The title says it all - how do I remove that little "half-moon" type clip from the foot peg? It almost looks like a washer with a section removed, like the letter "C". I would like to try out my Knight Design lowered foot peg.

There is a lynch pin/cotter pin (I don't know the proper term) that secures the nut holding everything on the rear axle together. It would appear that in order to install the rear (T-Rex brand) axle slider, this pin must be removed. Why does this not seem like a good idea to me? Any suggestions?

C clip pliers or just punch it out with a screw driver.

i tried the "punching out with a screwdriver" and ended up scratching the heat guard. thought there might be a better way.

Now you tell me! I got them off, with a few scratches to the clip bracket, but its done and the lower pegs definitely make a difference in comfort.

I was being tongue-in-cheek/facetious..... please accept my apology. the way things are going with the flash wars, I would hate to cause insult over something this simple!

Glad you got it. Truly the problem with Internet communications is we can't see or hear tone of body language.

.....and sometimes - that's a GOOD thing! (this is a polite example of what half these posts sound like)
