Traxxion Dynamics shock rebuild
07/26/11 5:57 AM

As most know the 14's rear spring is good for 150lb riders from the factory. I weigh in at 240lbs in full gear.I recently sent my rear shock to Traxxion Dynamics for some help. It received a full rebuild that included revalving for the new 800lb rated spring,added fresh 5 weight oil and set baseline settings. The cost was $300. All work was done and shipped back in less than 2 weeks. I got a 200 mile day in last weekend in the hills here in Tn. All I can say is this is by far the best mod I have done to my bike. The bike now holds lines,and doesn't run wide through corners any longer. My corner speeds,entry and exit,are 10 to 15 mph faster in just my 1st ride. I now leave my buddy on his Busa in the dust when the road gets twisty. I recomend this mod very highly to any husky ZX14 riders.

privateer; No info about a rebuild on the website, but I emailed and got this;

"Sure we can rebuild, revalve, and re-spring your OEM shock. We will install the correct spring for your weight and intended use then revalve the shock to work properly with the spring installed.
We charge $99.95 for the spring, $150 for the rebuild, and $50 for the revalve. The shock will be ready to bolt on when you receive it back. Right now we are running about a week or turnaround time."

I was actually thinking of a complete shock from them $700, but this is interesting.

THANKS 68gts!

Before your criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and have their shoes.

VERY interesting.

The two biggest problems with the ZX14 are the front fork and rear shock. Not that they aren't high quality, but that they are sprung for 150 pound rider (or is it 170?) with no luggage or changes from stock.

Changing the fork and shock to be at mid-average setting for the actual weight on the bike makes a huge difference.
