I don't know but there must be some advantage to filing jointly for some married couples. You definitely get tax relief for having kids. I don't think adopting/having kids will be any easier for gay men than it has ever been but lesbians are all set if they can find a willing donor.

Yes for anyone who is anti-gay fornication, prohibiting gay marriage is the wrong thing to do.

Any behavior made illegitimate by society will tend to make those participating in this behavior act more illegitimate than less. The War on Drugs is a perfect example. People using mild recreational drugs tend to associate with those who are into and deal in harder drugs. The penalties for marijuana trafficking have been as severe as those for heroin trafficking while anyone in their right mind knows pot is less harmful to society than alcohol, which is legal.

So while I don't pretend to understand homosexuality, I do think people are either born that way or not, and discriminating against someone because of they way they were born is wrong. Bringing them into the mainstream like with gay marriage will make them behave more legitimately and done years ago, may have made the AIDS epicemic much less widespread.

The only people who have a legitimate beef with gay marriage are those who provide spousal benefits. Everyone else is just sticking their nose into someone else's business and trying to tell someone else how to live when it has no effect on them. Lovers of liberty should take issue with the interference, but don't because most of them only love the liberties they themselves want to have. Being afraid of something you don't understand is not a reason to make it illegal. Get over it.
