2016 OPRT Season!
02/22/16 4:27 PM

The most recent traffic in this area is from spambots. Bummer!

The 2016 track season is about to kick off in the Pacific Northwest and OPRT has 8 events on the schedule. We run the standard 3 level per hour format, with performance schools in the beginner and intermediate levels.

The ZX-14(R) can be intimidating on the track, but is very rewarding when handled correctly. For any 14 riders that are interested, I'll set you up with the VIP treatment. I'll even trailer you down if you need a ride. Contact me via pm or text message for more details.

-Kirk (425) three19-0195

2016 Event Schedule
Monday May 23rd 2016 @ The Ridge

Monday July 4th 2016 @ The Ridge

Optimum Performance Rider Training

Thanks, and happy riding!

The nefarious Cblast:

Saddlebags? No problem!

Other (lesser) bikes? Yeah, you can bring those too.

How I wish I was closer and had the cash to spare. I hope I am able to be involved in these events in future. An old trailer, Pit Bull trailer restraint, a tent..I'd love to take a racetrack vacation someday. Keep us informed TRAILBOSS.

Yeah, the international nature of this forum makes organizing anything a real challenge.

If any of you ever happen to be in the area, I can also arrange for trackside demos.

I'm sure Pacific Raceways is awesome too but from the vids I have seen of The Ridge---------That thing is TOTALLY kickASS!! I'd encourage anyone to take TRAILBOSS up on the offer and if you're feeling a little intimidated by a first time track experience, go for the beginner group, you can go at your own pace and even if you do, you will still reach those crazy speeds you only dare for a few seconds at time on the street but you'll be doing it all day. That makes a huge difference in realizing your true riding abilities. I would take the beginner performance school. Everyone says that is the thing to do if you really want to learn to ride fast. I don't know if it was my skills or the bike but I was a bit disappointed with me track day experiences when I took the advice of the instructors. LOL they encouraged me to hit all the markers which I was not able to do even when I slowed way down. It might be a lot different when you are out with a bunch of other newbies who are at the same level. A good way to ease into the groove and then test yourself more in the track day event.

TrailBoss, Rook,
2 people I'd listen to.
I need a suit. Thinking 2 piece like to be in the 5-6 hundred range. What do you guys recommend? I usually ride in a Joe Rocket Textile all season jacket and denim sliders. Not sure I want to dive into a 1 piece that would only see track use where a 2 piece could be separated and used more.

Height/weight and build?

You can usually find super good deals on CL or local forums.

If going new, Joe Rocket makes great 2 piece suits that are "American" in fit.

FYI, Janman Shop is the official leathers supplier for the OPRT staff. Their products are a huge value, generally coming in 20% below comparably built gear. They make 1 piece and 2 piece suits.

I also have some loaner gear if you've got a "Barney Rubble" build.

Kirk
I don't think I'm a Barney Rubble build, at least I hope not.
5'10" 210lb muscular. 35"/36" waist 31"/32" inseam. 48" chest. Sleeves always seem short to me so probably a 35" sleeve.
I was looking at the Joe Rocket 2 piece suits. Blaster X or the SpeedMaster. Allen suggested Bilt gear as an economical option but I've heard people call it the Kmart of riding gear. Haven't heard of Janman, I'll look it up.

We are almost neighbors, I'm just south of you in Snohomish.

We're basically the same size. I've just got another 30lbs in my gut and ass from allowing "dadbod" to be acceptable.

I've got a high-end A* two piece zip-together (RC-1 and track pants) that will fit you perfectly. Maybe a bit loose through the tummy-tum, but you get what you pay for, right? If you want to borrow it for a trackday or two you are certainly welcome to.

If you cannot get a spot in the school, or just want someone to pit with/by... come find me... I'll help you out... So long as Kirk lets me out of my cage. You might want to bring him some bacon though... just to be safe.

Can't miss me:

Rob, you still have your ZX-14R?

Dave, got your messages. I'll try to get as many staffers out there on 14s as possibly. We'll build a freight train of HP!

14R?... Gen2's are pigs.

Gen1's are bettererer.

...no 14, atm... just here breakin' balls... maybe doing a little window shopping.

Guess I'll just be the caboose then.

First track day for me and lookin forward to a good time and learning experience.

You picked a great group... OPRT days are the bestest!
I remember my first trackday, and all leading up to it, vividly.
You need help and/or advice with anything... just ask.

Oh come on! A freight train on 14s dragging Givi's in the corners would be worth the shot. I only have soft bags anyway. Just want to have fun and learn what I can.

Did you guys see 129/3 Clarkston to Enterprise made top 15 roads in US to ride? Day one of a three day ride I do every year with a bunch of fun people. Damn I love the PNW!
