DogoZX and Blue07,

Nice seats how much did they take out of the seat that looks like 3-4 inches. Mine is only inch an a half I still need the legroom being 6'3" an all.

My seat is still for sale. Someone take it of my hands please.... I never use it is like new. It would look sick on a green ZX14.

Gravedigger,

Very nice! You will enjoy it on long rides.

Not sure how much was shaved on mine, it was an ebay find. Maybe 1.5-2"? No way it's 3-4" though... isn't that much there to start. At 6'2" (34" inseam), I'm very happy with the riding position... but I like a pretty aggressive position.

Thanks. Thing is like brand new. Auction ended at 2am PST. I was the only guy awake to bid and got it cheap. The seller was pretty upset. Said he'd only sat on it a few times before he sold his zx14.

Mine just wasn't low enough for me.I ended up shaving off another like 1" or maybe more. She's VERY low now.I would guess the foam itself is roughly 1" thick only.So I don't know how "low" that actually is sitting on it,but it fits excellent now.You won't get away with the seat foam being thinner using stock foam from the zx14.Just not enough "plushness" at that thickness. But the Connie 14 foam worked just fine being that thin.I experimented with several styles of Connie 14 Seats.(foam shaping). The pans are all the same. This last oneis the final product from my last "trial".I removed not only the foam to the 1" thickness, but I removed the two pan ridges that run along the "sides" of the main seat area.So there's no "bump"along where your inner thighs ride on the seat pad.VERY comfortable I have to say.And enhanced the handling properties of MY bike(lowered the cg).

I'm 6'1",170 lbs.You might not get away with this much modding to the seat IF you are heavier,IDK.My impression however is this....the seat shape, the bowl,on the Connie seat is definitely wider and "bigger" if I could use that term.I'm thinking that if you were a bigger guy,you could possibly cut the foam down pretty low,as long as you maintained the seat shape fairly close.I think that's what really helps the rider to get comfy...the weight distribution. The stock 14 seat is just too flat, and not as wide in the same areas as the connie. The foam they use on the zx14 also is NOT the same foam as the connie...which is a huge difference.

Mind you...when I sit on this seat,it will "crush" down another 1" or so.So it is very low while riding. My inseam is 34 as well.I had the lowered Buell XB12 (silver)pegs on there.I returned to my stock pegs .My legs are fine. The angle I thought was gonna make my long legs hurt, but they actually felt better with the stock pegs on there and the lowered seat.

Hey Gravedigger! I like the saddle. Is that the lower version? How do you like it?

V yes it is the low version I really like it even though I haven't gotten to spend more than an hour on my bike at a time.It really puts you closer to the tank. The only thing I have to get use to is the lip right behind you prevents you from sliding your butt back to tuck down just will have to work around it.

I cut a strip out of the middle of my 14 seat before taking a 1500 mile trip last season hoping it would take pressure off the tailbone. However, I found it wasn't my tailbone that usually hurt but rather the bottoms of my thighs right under my buttcheeks (lol). I can't decide if the seat would be better being narrower to take some pressure off that area. Doesn't sound right to me to make a seat narrow though. I wish the hump on the 14 was forward and bit more and more prominent. It seems like it would feel good to have something hugging and supporting the backside of where I sit. Also seems like the seat just has too much room to slide around. The wife hates the passenger half because like mentioned before, she slides forward all the time. I just can't make up my mind on the aftermarket seats though. I've heard mixed reviews on so many, and some just look stupid IMO to spend that much moola. Maybe I need to shop for a Connie again and see if I can get a good deal?

Thanks Gravedigger!
You are the first person I've run into that has that saddle and it's the one I want but I haven't been able to get any feedback. So, I'd like to get your input on a couple more things if you don't mind:
1) Have you carried a passenger? How was it for you? Did she (he?) slide into you like on the stock saddle? Was it comfortable for the passenger?
2) Did it noticeably affect your reach to the bars? In theory, if a saddle is lower it should be similar to adding risers to your clipons. To me that means less strain on wrists, hands, etc. So, like a 1" lower saddle and a 1" spacer under the clipons is close to the same ergonomically as stock saddle and 2" spacers under the clipons. Right?
3) I'm 6'1". Did you put lower pegs on? I think that would also take some pressure off of the arms (as well as unkinking the legs a bit obviously).

Thanks a lot for any and all feedback!

V
1.I haven't rode anybody else(female only) the GF doesn't like to (I know but she is good to me)so I don't ride 2 up cant help you there sorry.
2. As far as reach that hasn't changed I do have 1 inch risers on my bike the angle has changed its better some of the pressure is off my wrist.
3.I was thinking about getting the the peg lowering kit still have OEM pegs on I don't have to sorry about that since I'm short 5'7".

it really feels a lot better than the stock seat I hope to be finding out how it works on a long trip me and my buddy's are talking about riding from Louisiana to Deals gap at the end of May about 700 miles one way.And no problem any questions I can help with.

Thank you! I have the 09 Monster. Thinking the low like yours with lime piping! That's what I had on my ZRX. It looked really nice.
Thanks again. I'm gonna take the plunge!
