Has anyone separated the muffler from the mid-pipe?
I have a little project in mind and am not sure if its even do-able.
If anyone has a rashed set of mufflers with good mid-pipes, please let me know.
Don't want to buy a good set because my idea may not work.

It depends on exactly what your trying to do.

I have a set of Area P slip-ons that sit on more of an angle than the stock mufflers and because of that, they won't clear the Givi's. Dropping the whole muffler down with a longer strap is one way to solve the problem while the other is to alter/change the mid pipe. It's going to be easier, I think, to separate the stock mufflers from the stock mid-pipes and work with them and I'm not 100% sure that's a good alternative. I was hoping someone had some rashed up mufflers around with good mid pipes to try. I don't want to buy a good set to cut up cause I'm not sure what I'm gonna find when I do...may just be a waste of time.

I had a set of Tsukigi Carbon Race Cannisters that I installed on stock pipes to clear Corbin Bags.

I found a take off set of mufflers and cut the mid pipes clear.

They're on the shelf if you want them.

We're close, so make an offer and shipping won't be too bad.

They're for an 2009 so you'll have to use the '09 or later exhaust gasket.

Mission accomplished...Thanks to Don who cut the OEM exhaust apart, the Area-P's are mounted on the bike,
clearing the Givi's and are parallel to the bottom of the bags. An added bonus is the factory centerstand
stop works perfectly and the right pipe utilizes the factory mounting tab and bolt for a sturdier installation.
I'd post a couple pics as requested but the program is giving me fits...no can do.
