Born and raised in Buffalo NY, spent all my young years wanting to leave hated it. Always been into cars and motorcycles. Purchased a honda 50 moped when I was 14 from saving every penny I had that saved rode that thing in the ground. Met my wife to be in college soon after Father, decided this is not where I wanted to spend the rest of my life nor raise my daughter joined the Navy right after desert storm. Moved (Navy) to Norfolk VA, spent the next 6 yrs deployed pretty much decided I had enough Honorable Discharge Oct.98. Got back into Hot Rods and dragracing took a job as a mechanic still with the same employer today.
Always wanted another bike so in 2005 purchased a yamaha vstar 1100 custom a cruiser just to get my feet wet again put 13,000 mi on that bike in 2 years. In 07 seen the suzuki m109r had to have it was fast loved it another 13,000 mi in 2 years. Really wanted a sportbike. Fall of 09 from working 12+ hr days, bad diet, general lack of care for my body my blood pressure shot through the roof. Talk about an eye opener all I could think of was I'm 39 too early to kick the bucket. Eight months later between diet and exercise have lowered it to 113/62 and lost 33lbs. Decided for a job well done I was going to get me a sportbike. Did my research, pricing, quality, comfort. It was either going to be a ZX14,or a Busa. Wanted something I could tour on also. Because of the military bike prices are crazy here, found an 08 ZX14 in Dover Delaware for $7500, 1700 mi on it drove up and bought it the same weekend. This Bike is incredible, M109 started gathering dust 6 months later traded it for an 09 R6 with only 3000 mi on it. Now I'm planning track days on the R6, wife said I'm entering my second childhood lol. I plan all my vacations around riding it's a sickness I know.
I know that everyone usually progresses from sportbikes to cruisers I was the other way around, Go figure? Well guess it was God's way of increasing maturity before power.
