Got cut off last weekend. Tail end of a ride. Last 15 minutes of a 255 mile day with a huge group of bikes. Was all done, broke off by myself to head home. Get off the highway, onto a nice straight. A dam car pulls out directly in front of me. No where to go. I sure didn't wanna become a trunk ornament, so I swerved one way and my Melinda went down with me on it. Maybe 25-30 mph. Layed her down. She as well as me get some roadrash! Nothing bad! Just enough to fuck it up! A week later I'm doing good. Healing up good. Insurance already came and cut checks to get her fixed. $3000 worth of damage. All cosmetic thankfully. And thankful for full coverage!
Tomorrow I bring her down to the shop to start the process.

Man that looks painful!! Glad to hear that you and your bike will make a full recovery and insurance is paying. Vitamin E and vitamin E oil help the skin too heal and lessen scarring. Hope your tattoo recovers also? Ride safe.

I feel the gear I was wearing was great. Maybe just needed more. I think jeans suck now. I do have a pair of Kevlar lined cargo pants. I should wear those more often. I do also have a jacket, just wore the vest on this day. Had I worn the jacket, none of that woulda happen.

As far as the actual incident itself, I'm not really sure.

If you must wear jeans get a pair of knee guards to go under them. Very cheap protection.
