I'm looking for an 06-07 ZX14 stock seat. The condition is not important as I'm looking for something real inexpensive: can have rips, tears, or be in as bad shape as possible AS LONG AS the bottom plastic pan is complete and in fairly good shape. By "good shape", I mean not broken or twisted up from an accident, and the hardware is still there. (rubber cushions, etc.)

Thanks, but if I'm going to have to spend that much, I'll just bite the bullet and order a Tobin or Corbin. I looked at the Sargent and I don't think I'm getting enough seat for my money, although I do like the spare compartment with the Sargent half-seat for the 14.

I was hoping hoping to get a cheap seat pan and have a local seat builder put me a custom seat together.

I picked up a Corbin a couple of days ago, so no longer looking for a seat. I actually have my stock seat for sale now.

Jesse, how do you like that Corbin? I noticed my butt going numb on stock seat after an hour... would you say Corbin feels a lot better?

I just bought it and it's "in the mail." Anything's got to be better than the stock seat in my opinion. I'm 6' 1" and really looking forward to getting a little more comfortable with the Corbin. I've heard great things about it and almost bought the Sargent until I realized it was only half a seat, not all of it.

The longest I was able to ride with the stock seat was about 3 1/2 hours. I also have the 1" Genmar risers so maybe that's why. Wish the Genmars were one more inch higher, which would be perfect for me.

I'm going to make my own Corbin-style foot peg lowering brackets: the aluminum bar is on the way, and with the lowering links in the rear, I'm hoping to make the ride a lot more comfortable. To clarify, have the links but not installed yet.

im not looking to spend that much either.

I'm not sure if GroundPounder wants it or not, he's supposed to get back to me. He's the guy I got the Corbin from and he told me AFTER our transaction and shipping that he was looking for a seat. If he does not want it then you will be next on the list. I'll let you know. They are on Ebay all the time but prices vary from $50 to $175. Go figure, eh?

I just heard back from GroundPounder over at zx14net and he has found a loaner and doesn't want mine. My stock zx14 seat is now for sale. I'm actually going to wait until I get my Corbin from UPS and installed before I let it go just to be on the safe side.

If you want to make me an offer in the meantime, that's fine.

how much for the seat?

OK, got the Corbin from Groundpounder, put it on and... well, it's OK, but not the drop in height I though it would be. The drop is a little after where I sit in the slope, so if I scoot back then it's a little better, but then the bars are too low, which kills my wrists after about a 1/2 hour. I just can't win with this setup. I'm thinking about adapting another set of clip-ons 1 1/2" higher.

I haven't given up yet with the tweaks but I gotta say if I can't get comfortable on this thing I'm throwing it up on ebay.

So I'm going to hang onto the stock seat for now.
