Step:
1. Key on ~ Wait for screen to cycle on.
2. Hold down 'Sel' until something happens?
3. Release and then tap Sel one more time.
4. Tap the lower switch to drill down the menu to clock.
5. Hit Sel once you are on the highlighted clock bar.
6. Hours blink so up/down is to see which way to move?
7. Tap Sel once you found the hour.
8. It now winks for minutes. Toggle up or down unit you find the minutes.
9. Turn key to off position once you found your minutes.
10. All you did was loophole a bunch of toggling to get back to the home screen. So take your choice out of there.

The fairing trick is first remove the two front top black panels on either side of the nose of the tank. Once the screws are out, I'm going by guess? I have two slots to the rear part of the fairing at the back. So my slotting has to move a tad forward, then away from the tank. So I may need to have my large upper [side] bolts: at the nose of the fairing but at the rear where the first panel needs to come off. Then, the largest part of the fairing to move that out some so the slotting will not come up and scratch the top plastic nose of the tank.

So I want to blue tape any meet line as close to the edge as possible. Because my tabs will come up and 'shading a scratch just like that' in that soft stuff. So a roll of tape is cheaper than a panel, you start going anal over a scratch. And if I have that in the opposite? Meaning, the outer side moves out and away for the tabs? So either spread just enough out to look for tabs, or hooks to ride over?

Because if you are going after the larger panels on the side, those have a hook(s) at the top and need to sort of lift up and are sent back some?

cjuni, For the fairing, go to the main menu and check out the "How-Too's". Rook has done some great write ups on all things ZX14R. Hope that helps.

Yepa, cj.

Rook has stepped up to an R or are we talking a first gen 14 fairing? Big difference. That side [copy] ferrari grill? That puppy sort of sticks out at the back, then pulls back and out. Then again, this needs some other fairing part moved before you can grill it and skill it. It sort of has jaws behind the main fairing or matching forks call it?

Like anything else, you figure it out you get used to it, she becomes a routine move. Fk'inn'A I can get the part on and off.

I'd never use WD40 for the lubing of fairing grommets/locating lugs. Silicone rubber lube is way better. Also, if your removing bodywork in low ambient temperatures use a hair dryer to warm the plastic locating hooks and lugs and any other points on the bodywork that require flexing for removal/installation.. It makes the plastic far less brittle and less prone to breakage. Ask me how I know.

That's really good advice pegscraper, I've read that silicone lube helps keep rubber soft and is good for the rubber.

Instead of a hairdryer for warming the plastic, you could use the cost of new plastic's to convince the wife that a heater for your garage is a wise financial investment! :)

I often leave my plastics off for winter. Works nicely if I have some work to do on them.
